We arrived in the Meteora area of Greece which is breath-taking in itself. The hotel facility came up suddenly and we made a sharp turn to enter, there were entrance signs well in advance but to enter the facility it is quite a sudden turn. Parking was close and plentiful. The hotel itself is exquisite in a quiet beautiful setting. Staff was very solicitous and polite. Our room was beutiful and had complimentary fruit and wine from the manager. The room is clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful as was dinner the night before. We paid a nominal fee for dinner but breakfast was included in the cost of the hotel. The hostess at the front desk booked our tour to the monasteries of Meteora, a half-day trip that was well worth the cost. Excellent guides and also a tour of the Theopetra caves. Not to be missed. The hotel allowed us to check out late because of the half day tour. The property is beautifully landscaped and has a seasonal pool. Snack bar inside and full bar available.Furnishings thruout the hotel echo the sacredness of the monastery area, icons and ancient statuary. Another beautiful Amalia property, so peaceful and serene.

We popped in for a visit to Meteora. Iridanos took care of us: from the thermostat, to the squeaky clean room, awesome view, free WIFI, hot shower, handy breakfast, tips for dinner, and most important tips for visiting the monasteries. We hated to leave but had to keep on our schedule. Added bonus are the people in Meteora! Really nice and helpful.
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel King. I could see the cliffs of Meteora from my hotel room window. Dan, the proprietor, and his wife are always around to provide information of the area. Since I had shown an interest in hiking up to the monasteries from town, Dan showed me on the map the more preferable trails. He also pointed out some of the trails leading to ruins that were less frequented by tourists.
The hotel was large and comfortable. The dining area was good for a buffet breakfast lots of choice. The rooms were comfortable and clean. No fridge in room or bath plug to fill the bath up to soak feet after the walking up and down to Meteora.
Very central to all the restaurants and to get the bus back to trikala.

This hotel is very close to the rocks of Meteora. Reason why we stayed at this hotel. The hotel is very clean with marble floor and steps. I highly recommend this hotel to people who are interested in visiting the Meteora. The rock formation in Meteora is amazing. There are seven monasteries on top of the rocks and is practically built in the middle of the sky and closer to heaven. One of God's beautiful creation enhanced by the eastern orthodox monks. The monasteries are built on sandstone rock pillars and is located in central Greece. The nearest town is Kalambaka. This monasteries which are very unique in structures and built in the 9th centuries by an ascetic group of hermit monks who lived a life of solitude during those years, should be considered one of the seven wonders of the world. A very must to see and very highly recommended.
