We have just returned from our overnight stay in two of the beautiful rooms here and I honestly can’t wait to come back.
I picked this hotel due to its location near-by to a hospital appointment, and because it was dog friendly - and I can assure you that Bear was definitely made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed his stay.
I did read the mixed reviews before coming, however we decided to see for ourselves - and we are really glad we did. So firstly yes, the macerator is noisy, I won’t lie, but it’s just one of those things that comes part and parcel of it being an old building. The same can be said about the wonky floors, it’s part of the history and character of the building.
We had two exceptionally clean and spacious rooms, with modern furnishings and beautiful bathrooms. The beds were huge, as was the telly - lovely coffee machine and fresh water on arrival. We did request a kettle and this was provided literally within 5 minutes.
We all slept well and were not interrupted by any noise, it was very peaceful and relaxing.
We are in the restaurant at night and had breakfast there in the morning - I honestly cannot fault it, the food was exceptional and the service was too. A huge shout out to Nancy in particular, very polite and friendly, and extremely knowledgable of the buildings history - she is a credit to your team.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back, we had a really lovely time, thank you.
