Hello, For clarification for future guests this guest booked to stay in our cottage and despite being given many opportunities to let us know they intended to bring dogs on their holiday (and pay the subsequent dog fee which is very clearly advertised) they arrived on site with three dogs (our policy, which was shared with them, being only for 2 dogs). As they were already on their holiday we graciously allowed for the third dog if they would pay the required dog fee. The guests disputed the need to pay a fee and we had to refer them to our t&c’s which state any failure to comply with said t&c’s would resort in a fine being issued. This is common practice in all holiday accommodation. Eventually they did pay the dog fee and no fine was issued. We have two of our own dogs living on site and absolutely adore them and enjoy sharing their beautiful home with our guests dogs. We provide dog welcome hampers, dog waste disposal and a large enclosed meadow that dogs are allowed to enjoy off lead. We cannot allow dogs on soft furnishings as, unfortunately in the past we have had damage from dogs claws and hair. We have to accommodate all guests and many people suffer from allergies therefore to keep everyone happy and safe we ask for dogs not to be allowed on the soft furnishings. You are the first guests in 6years (the majority of whom bring dogs) to have issue with this, we respect that we all have different rules in place for our pets in our own homes (our own dogs are also not allowed on soft furnishings in our home) but we do not feel it is unreasonable to expect guests to be considerate of future users when visiting our cottages. We are sorry you felt this was unfair and would recommend in future you thoroughly check t&c’s before visiting other holiday accommodation so that they meet the exact standards you require for your pets. We’re so sorry to hear you were disturbed during your stay, it’s extremely unusual to hear dogs from the boarding kennels. We live on site and have two dogs ourselves but have never been disturbed by the kennels, nor have we ever heard barking while indoors. Perhaps there was a particularly unsettled dog staying there during your stay, it did not disturb our own dogs though but I can appreciate all dogs have different sensitivity levels to this sort of thing. No other guests have ever fed back that they can hear barking or that their dogs have been disturbed by this thankfully. Hope you were still able to enjoy a nice break away, Best wishes, Llinos
