The White Hart is a nice pub, however staying as a guest was a different experience to having a drink in the bar. A good point was being able to check in earlier than the time advertised of 1530. The room was very cold, the net curtains very dirty & the shower was very marked with black around the tray. No hair dryer or iron in the room.

LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS! No chef = no food! The most basic cold breakfast, to call it a continental breakfast would be a push. Was not told this when booked and the sister pub across the road is so busy you can’t get a table. A remote location to be without a hot supper. Shower had no pressure and was a trickle so took a very long time. A poor experience

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The room was lovely and the staff very attentive. Meal was good in restaurant and compliment given to chef. I was disappointed with the bottles of wine with where very expensive

We 💕 it!
We were completely happy with our stay, the beds were very comfortable, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and we loved the atmosphere and the small-town feel of the place. We’d love to come again if we need a place to stay next time we’re over. Thank you!

Little gem of a hotel
Took both family rooms as travelling from Cornwall to Manchester and needed a stop over. Lucky us the Hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Group of 7 had dinner and not a single complaint. The rooms were serviceable, clean and tidy. TV & Kettle worked well. Bathroom a little on the small side and Aldo’s little tired but everything worked and loads of hot water. Breakfast was continental with toast, croissants & cereal and was nice and fresh to go with the hot drinks made to order. This little gem was a lucky find and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone lucky enough to be in that area.

Room was clean and the bed was comfy. The wash basin was damaged. Breakfast was do it yourself toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit.

Tuesday Overnight stay
Great warm welcome and room . Evening food available over the road at sister pub no problem good food. Only light breakfast available and needed replenishing . Had to request plates and knives . Plates on arrival were old chipped and cracked . Toaster was 2 slice domestic toaster inadequate for amount of guests . No orange juice when arrived weak and tasteless . An abundance of flies above breakfast table food covered but an insectercuter needed .

Too many stairs to reach the room , and very noisy inside from other rooms , the breakfast was not very good with only one toaster for all the guests . To say it was continental is not true , no cold meats or cheeses . Overall the administration within the hotel was not good .

This is an interesting historic hotel in a wonderful small living working town in Somerset. It is an excellent location to explore the Somerset and North Devon coast and countryside. The new owners have great plans for refurbishing the rooms. The downstairs looks great! We were made very welcome. Suggest that guests ring ahead with special dietary requirements particularly with regard to breakfast.
