"I definitely enjoyed our time at Occidental, the staff are all super nice (especially someone working in the entertainment of the resort, I forgot his name, who took the time to learn our names and would always say Hello and was overall such an amazing person)and the location of the hotel is in a nice little corner on the beach allowing you to swim in a natural current that is between two beaches. It was our 10 year anniversary and the hotel provided us with a nice bottle of wine when we arrived and a nice surprise in our room with flowers! Thank you!! Some things they should do to improve satisfaction: 1. Shower head in our room was old and was not pouring the water properly. 2. Cleanliness of the pool more often. 3. Consider cooling the pool for super hot days. 4. They had an event during our last day that they only advertised 30 minutes prior to. They should definitely advertise this to the guests more in advance as it was a fun show to watch and I feel like more guests would enjoy it with proper advertising for said events. "Everything about my stay was wonderful! From pre-arriving, to helping me book transportation to from the airport, to check-in, this stay really enhanced my trip. The breakfast is incredible! The coffee is amazing. Freddie our breakfast server was delightful. Justin at the front desk is super helpful and his positive energy is continuous. Thanks for the tips on the coffee and attention to detail through every interaction. I wish i was staying here longer but will definitely spread the word. I loved the pool! And rooms are super clean and met all my needs."

"The owners and extremely friendly and can help you with any local tour or dining questions. It is a little bit of an upward climb up the dirt road coming back from downtown but you will get used to it after a day or two. It’s worth it for the location just away from the busy downtown but close enough to wal there and to the beach. "

"Based right in the heart of Tamarindo. Ten North was the perfect spot to be to hit up all the shops and amazing restaurants. We walked everywhere and when we woke up Saturday morning there was an amazing farmers market right outside the hotel where we grabbed some morning treats and local artwork. Thanks Ten North! We would stay here again in the future, good bang for your buck! Signed a New Yorker. "

"Lovely hotel, perfect location and very kind staff. The hotel has 2 dogs, one big and small who are super cute, and are friendly but will generally ignore you and not be in your face if you don't want them to be. The pool had a few leaves/ bugs floating around and could be skimmed more often, but it was still perfectly fine to swim in. "
