Greay stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was perfect. Great location, exeptional view, friendly staff, clean rooms. It had all you can ask. I would recommand it anytime.

Unique grand hotel archiecture unlike anything we encountered in other accommation on offer on our Greek islands trip. It was a treat staying here, good value too, with a wonderful, imaginative breakfast buffet atop the hotel where the views of sea and other classical buildings in this locale were wonderful. Money has been spent on a good sleep for guest with blackout- type curtains, triple (?)glazing and luxe beds- SO comfy. Staff were helpful and resourceful esp re our local travel enquiries.

Beautiful hotel in every sense and in the best location one can imagine in Ermoupolis. Thank you for making my holiday memorable. The only issue I had was that there were no partitions between the small balcony spaces and that was a shame in terms of enjoyment. I hope the hotel addresses this in future.

Amazing stay
Amazing ! Staff are very kind and welcoming . Breakfast was ok (was a bit shocked you had to pay for the bottled water for our breakfast , even tho breakfast was included ) and had a lovely rooftop view. Had a nice little cafe next door for ice cream and the balcony view was just right for seeing the beach . And has a good eco friendly charging point . Overall would recommend - definitely coming back next time . 9/10. 👌

Great for a stay in Syros
Great hotel overlooking the sea, sea view room is definitely recommended. Breakfast included was very nice. Less than 10 minute walk to the Ermoupoli town center and port.

Marvellous views in a delightful location
Have just stayed for a week at the Melathron. A friendly welcome and continued cheery conversations. I had a wonderful large sea view terrace outside my room and the room was comfortable and clean. Brand new totally marble bathroom with a super shower. Very quiet area but only 8 minutes easy walk to Miauli Square. Breakfast was good ...there is an excellent device making freshly boiled yummy eggs under the control of the very nice Antonis. During my stay, there was a week of free and excellent jazz at the lovely Apollon Theatre. There is more music throughout the summer. Ermopoulis is a wonderful town with friendly and very polite inhabitants. One of the nicest palaces in Greece. Very good bus ser ice to the beaches from the bus stop area near the ferry dock. Max fare euros1.70 taxi fare up to ano syros 5 euro. I hope to return to the Melathron in september

nice elegant hotel with amazing view.
I stayed there while I visired the amazing island of Syros and I want to point out the good and the ones who need to improve, Room was clean nice bathroom, view amazing at the front rooms, breakfast ok but not for a 4 star category. let's say rather a continental style. Toiletries fine but conditioner was missing so I ended up going out looking like I was electrocuted... I would recomend it to others if they correct the little details. Location fine, there is a small bus for free that takes you to the center every hour or so and stops in front of the hotel. nice, Also I hate the cost of calls that you are charged even for local ###

What a mistake
Okay, so the location is nice, however, if you pick a different hotel all of them are close to the city anyway. The staff is just one person watching TV. No real facilities in the area. I found garbage in the room from previous occupants of the room. yuck. and for a queen size bed they pushed 2 single beds together so my girlfriend and had the most uncomfortable sleep. I would not recommend this hotel.

One of the best hotels in cyclades
Good points: Staff and management both acted as exemplars of hospitality. They accommodated our special needs with the baby and offered help on every aspect possible - from transportation round the island, to carrying extra luggage for us here and there, providing useful local knowledge to name a few. The breakfast at the terrace overlooking the port of Hermoupolis is an experience in its own merit. Ah, also the free wifi (although the regular need for a new password is inconvenient). Not so good points: This is a neo-classical building. It's very pleasant and interesting architecture, however it has its limitations in terms of facilities they can build/provide - e.g. a pool is not allowed.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is close to the port and all attractions in the city but also has the city bathing platform right out the front so you can swim straight in the sea. It is soooo nice!

Un'oasi di eleganza in una una zona residenziale che è la più bella della città. Affacciato sul mare e accanto alla chiesa più importante dell'isola. A 10 minuiti a piedi all'imbarco dei traghetti e a 3 dalla piazza principale .Stanze spaziose e rifinite . Bagni moderni e ampi. Personale gentilissimo e proattivo. Colazione abbondante e molto buona. Prezzo ragionevolissimo. Che si può chiedere di piu?

Vi bodde först i ett familjerum i ett annex som var lite mörkt och tråkigt. Vi fick dock byta till ett fantastiskt rum med havsutsikt och en liten balkong. Personalen var väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam. Underbar frukost som intas på en takterrass med havsutsikt.

Nous achetons une chambre pour 3 jours avec balcon. On nous propose une chambre la 1004, sans balcon et très sombre (claustrophobe s'abstenir !). Devant notre réaction, on nous propose une chambre avec balcon pour un supplément de 20 € par nuit ! On refuse, s'en suit le sempiternel débat : c'est pas nous c'est une erreur du site INTERNET... Je tente de vérifier mes dires en relisant mon achat sur HOTEL.COM : dans la chambre 1004 une connexion nulle et même, ils savaient très bien ce qu'ils faisaient. Résultats, après 2 jours de palabres, ils nous donnent la troisième nuit la chambre conforme. On attend toujours des excuses ! En compensation j'ai demandé une demi-journée supplémentaire car nous avions un départ de bateau tardif, ils ont accepté, mais "rebelote" on noua remis dans la chambre 104 alors, on recommence les valises et on déménage. HOTEL A EVITER !!!

tres bel hotel sur la corniche
L'hotel est bien placé a 5mn du port sur les hauteurs Belle vue mer, surtout depuis la terrasse du petit dejeuner. Tres propre et tres belle salle d'eau. Je recommande vivement cet hotel

Ich buchte dieses Hotel bereits im Jahr 2003 anlässlich einer Dienstreise. War damals von der Insel und diesem Hotel sehr angetan. Neun Jahre später hat sich nicht sehr viel verändert. Die Insel ist immer noch weitestgehend vom Tourismus verschont geblieben, was ich auch heuer wieder als sehr angenehm empfunden habe, Das Hotel ist ein altes Palais und liegt im alten Viertel der Stadt. (Ein paar Minuten Gehweg zum Hafen!). Wir hatten ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit wunderschönem Blick auf das Meer! Leider war die Dachterasse nicht geöffnet, somit konnten wir das Frühstückt nicht im Freien mit Blick auf das Meer geniessen. Auch war das Frühstück: eher lieblos und nicht sehr abwechslungsreich. Also in diesem Punkt gibt es schon Verbesserungspotential.
