Loved the room-spacious and relaxing. The view of the water are phenomenal. Check-in was rough. We were never notified tgat we had to contact the property in advance to put down a deposit and get access codes. Internet connectivity in the area is very poor, and the location's wi-fi was spotty. Generally, check-in was a huge hassle that could have been avoided with some prior notification.

We did try to call the number on your reservation and left a voice mail for you to call with an email so we could email you the codes.. the number ended in 9917, maybe that was a wrong number. We do apologize for any inconvenience or incorrect information you were given.. (No deposit, it was for incidentals) and we hope this does not deter you from returning to Surry Seafood in the future. We are looking forward to your return.

Great place to stay when visiting Williamsburg and Jamestown. Just a short relaxing ferry ride away! Awesome food downstairs at the restaurant. If I had to be picky I would say the smell from the cleaner was VERY strong the first night, and the bedroom needs a clock! :)

Beautiful view, priced right, easy check in. You can hear the neighbor noise. The restaurant noise is done by 9. It wasn’t a deterrent for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

This property was a shocker. I didn't think at first it was gonna be as great as it was. Was here on a business trip meeting a client near by and this place truly amazed me. I showed up to the restaurant where I was met by friendly hostesses. I didn't have much to do that night so I sat down at the bar where Christy didn't disappoint! All her recommendations for food and drinks were just what I needed to make for a great evening. Plus her great attitude was lively and was a pleasure to deal with. The blackend fish and shrimp with that magical sauce was out of this world and shouldn't be legal. All the staff seemed to get along great and worked as a team. The manager was attentive and even once I made it to my room came up to make sure everything was ok and to me liking. Over the top recommended if you're in the area and I'm certain the fishing is great also!

Great views, great food, great room
Great stay. Much bigger than the pictures show. We were very surprised at the size. Was expecting a studio style room and it was more like a 1 bedroom apartment. Not to mention the view of the marina below was great waking up to. The restaurant below was a bit pricey but worth every penny. Only thing lacking was the wifi. Very spotty when streaming through our Roku on the TV. The check in was a bit of a hassle as there is no front desk and the restaurant manager has to contact the company overseeing the room rentals. Overall nothing that would deter me from highly recommending this place and will definitely be staying again next time we are in the area.

Beautiful place with wonderful views. The room was very spacious and in excellent condition. Convenient to the Jamestown ferry and Williamsburg. Restaurant below had some excellent food and the bar drinks were tasty. Highly recommended & we will definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend!
The room was great! Everything was really clean and well kept. The bed was very comfortable. The views from the balcony were beautiful. The Starbucks Coffee was a nice touch as well!

A cute place.
Cute off the beaten path place on the water. Very quiet. The water view was amazing. Layout was a little odd. Hard to watch tv from the sofa. My biggest complaint about the room is that the hot water ran out before I could finish my shower. And that meant my boyfriend could not take one before check out. I would go back if that issue was taken care of. As far as the onsite restaurant goes, I'd take the ferry across the river or drive the half hour to Smithfield before I EVER went back!

I wish I had a name I could tell what room you were in, each room has it's own hot water heater, so we may need to raise the temperature on the hot water heater. I may have maintenance just check them all to be safe. I am glad you enjoyed your stay, liked the water view and that you came to Smithfield Station, but I would love additional feedback on the restaurant, if you have time to call?? Ask for Dee, I am ext 1. We definitely want to correct any issues with the restaurant. Again, I appreciate your feedback, thank you!

I loved my stay! The views are spectacular and the food at the restaurant below is delicious. The staff there are lovely and very helpful. Be aware that there is no front desk, you just call to their sister property to get door codes for your room. I liked this but if you’re looking for a traditional hotel, this isn’t it. They were very helpful over the phone and let me have a later checkout. FYI, the restaurant does not serve breakfast, so be prepared to drive to Smithfield or Williamsburg for breakfast (or be happy with 7-11). Bed was comfy, had lots of extra pillows and I found an extra blanket. Room was very clean! My one teeny tiny recommendation: you have to take stairs to get to the rooms (as they are above the restaurant). This was ok with me. But I have a bad ankle so I was a bit slow moving, and some better lighting on the stairs would’ve been appreciated. They were pretty dark at night. Other than this, I absolutely loved my stay and I’ll definitely be back!

The view was amazing, espcially for the cost. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff went way overboard to accommodate our needs. The location was perfect, quiet, and serene. Nature with Chippokes State Park and Jamestown close by. A couple of things needed repair...a towel bar and the detached base of the pull out sofa. It was still very comfortable. Enjoyed it enough to return in 2 months.

Everything was wonder except that the walls are paper line. Our neighbor woke up super early and we could literally hear every word they said. Which kind of made us want to leave early because we couldn’t sleep in. We were forced to get up at 6:45 am meanwhile checkout is at 12.

We had a great time…fun Jet skiing vacation on the James!😎 Very friendly restaurant staff! Daniel assisted us with the new direct tv system…👍 Perhaps a guide to assist with the tv…. The view is gorgeous and the docks are very nice… Thanks for everything!

Beautiful Place!
Sorry I was here only one night! What a beautiful location and easy to get to from the ferry landing. My room was really a small apartment, very clean, with wonderful views. And very comfortable bed. Restaurant downstairs is great and friendly as well. Speaking of which, it's not a regular hotel check-in. Once you book, you'll get an email telling you the pass codes. I arrived before the email (had only booked an hour or so before), but the restaurant manager was very helpful and told me the number to call. Do be aware that all the rooms are up outside stairs so unfortunately not a place for those who have trouble climbing.

Nice place but no heat.
The heating unit was not working when I checked in. I was given no update as to when the maintenance personnel would arrive. There was no estimate as to when the unit would be repaired. The outside temperature was in the mid twenties over night with highs in the forties. The room was fifty-five degrees. They did give me a space heater so I would not freeze. Check the heat is repaired before staying in room three.

Quiet atmosphere. Cleanliness of the room was top notch. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on our day of arrival (renovations). When I made the reservation for the room it was scheduled to be completed 1-2 days before our arrival.

A great place to stay! Very clean rooms with a little kitchen and living room, with a balcony overlooking the James River. The restaurant here has great food, and live music. There are many historic sites nearby including Smith's Fort, Bacons Castle, Surry Courthouse, Chippokes, and Smithfield. Just down the road, you can take the ferry over to Williamsburg. I highly recommend this off- the- beaten -path place. .

We loved our stay here!! The view is amazing! The restaurant is delicious! The staff and singer Chris at the restaurant were so friendly! Great kitchenette with silverware! It’s clean and roomy! Down the road from the ferry straight to Williamsburg! The only downside is the walls are super thin and the water was hard on my hair. Planning a trip back in the spring!

It was a nice getaway. Be aware of the very hard water and the room coffee is nasty. But the stay was very quiet, beautiful view and it was nice the restaurant was right beneath us. Loved that part!
