The staff was super helpful and nice ! It makes a difference in a long trip ! They were very accommodating considering they had roof construction in the building. Nice room with scenic view on the lake with balcony to enjoy the sun at the end of a long drive. Hotel is conveniently located near E39 but also quiet. Very clean. Breakfast was excellent with good choice of food. I definitely recommend.

Delightful place.. Spacious, clean rooms. Beautiful landmark in the town. Awesome breakfast included, but the highlight was the dinner buffet with local meals and standard food cooked to perfection(cost is 395 NK). Public sauna across the street. Friendly helpful staff.

It took me more than half hour get the room, after long drive. They gave me room not as in reservation, which was unsuitable. And than changed.

I fell in love with this hotel! The rooms were comfortable and the staff very friendly. I loved all the lounge spaces in the lobby and had a great time talking to fellow travelers. The dinner buffet was expansive and very reasonably priced and the breakfast buffet was delicious. I have never stayed at a Thon property before but will definitely use this chain again on my trip.

Great hotel in a pretty central vicinity of this area. Staff was very present, friendly, & helpful. VERY limited dining options in the vicinity, so fortunate that the breakfast/evening buffets provided by the hotel are of high quality.

Lovely place
The food was delicious & that staff all very helpful. We rented bikes on site & rode down a country path & it was so beautiful. Highly recommend on all counts!

Request a room in new building or don’t stay here
Although the gentleman who checked me in was super nice, this was the most annoying check in I’ve ever had. I came exhausted after traveling all day, and was given instructions on how to get to my room. I was to go up one flight of stairs, down a hallway and up two more flights of stairs and down another hallway to the old building. It was too much to take in and I got lost and had to try to bring my luggage down the stairs to find the reception again to ask for help. If I were you, I’d call and ask to be in the newer building because it is very annoying to be in the old building if you have a lot of luggage. Next, the room has blackout curtains… but they aren’t cut wide enough, so they didn’t cover the entire window. Really? The main light in my room flickered for about 2 minutes before it gave up and just turned off. Breakfast was good, such as the rest of the Thon hotels and staff were friendly. Parking was free, on-site, plenty of spaces and easy. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here, unless the rooms in the new building are easier to get to, with lights that don’t flicker and blackout curtains that fit the windows. The good reviews must all be from people who got to stay in the new building, because I just don’t see anyone giving the old building a good review.

Sins it was off season, there was little hot water.. Low temperature in the rooms... And you had to order what to get for breakfast... But the staff was nice.

An OK place to stay for a night or two
Hotel was quite nice. Location on lake front with beautiful view. Dinner and breakfast were very nice. Heated pool was a real treat. Hotel was somewhat dated but in a general good condition. The extra bed provided was very hard and uneven. Best described as sleeping on a pile of rocks.

Nice hotel, we stayed at the old part of the hotel. Carpet on the floor, but clean. Small swimming pool next to our room, kids loved it.

We had a very goos time in this hotel. Thw location was good to break our journey with a stop and the rooms were nuce and clean. We enjoyed a relaxing swim at the pool and the dinner offered a good variety of meals. You could also order meals of your choice. The lobby was very welcoming with the flickering loghts of the candles and the crackling fireplace. Staff was polite and our room had a nice view of the mountain. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and had a great stay here.

Beautiful location, right on the lake.
MBeautiful location, right on the lake. The hotel seems a little tired on first glimpse, but it is actually very well appointed and comfortable. Room was small, but clean and comfortable, and with the most amazing view of the lake. There is a fantastic pool, which is heated to almost tropical conditions. There are games rooms. There’s a guest laundry. There is a library and lots of places to sit and relax and make yourself at home. The hotel is near to a few shops. The hotel restaurant has delicious food for a reasonable price. Amazing deserts. Nice breakfast with good choices. There is not much to do in the town, but that’s OK. The lake is so beautiful it is just nice to walk around it and look at it. Really nice place to stay

Pleasant one night stopover. Inspire of 100 plus attending a conference, we felt no impact. Clean room. Wonderful dinner buffet and breakfast. Visited nearby glacier and museum- worth a visit. Hotel in lovely location.

The hotel is in a good location especially if you are traveling from one part of Norway to another and need an overnight stop. We had the buffet dinner and breakfast. Good selections for both. The room was spacious and comfortable. It is a bit pricey.

Needs updating
Too hot and no fans plus a terrible smell that made us dry reach. Not a good way to sleep. Only reason to stay there is to have that magnificent view of the lake

Ok by American standards, poor for Norway
My husband and I stopped here on our way to Bergen from Valldal. We just needed a bed so weren't looking for anything fancy, but as we've been in Norway for a week (from rural California) we've come to expect good quality from even cheaper hotels. This place badly needs updating. While the bedroom has been updated and has a very comfy bed, the bathroom is TINY, (you could barely move), outdated, very loud etc. Our shower curtain had mold on it and the tub was chipped in many places. The hot portion of breakfast was inedible and cold while the bread was good and the smoothies were a great touch that we liked. Again, we're American and are used to gross, pre-packaged breakfast at hotels. We could hear everything happening in the rooms surrounding us, waking us up at all hours. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper though even wearing them for us didn't help. In short, this place is fine for a night and most Americans like us might be satisfied but if you are Norwegian or European, I'm guessing you'd expect better for the price. We have stayed in multiple, comparable hotels on this trip for quite a bit less that were fabulous in every way.
