In need of much renovation

Posted 06-Apr-2015
Staff are outstanding but none of the rooms are worth paying top dollar for. Some Patrons complained of holes in their bath, our Superior room was filthy, even had dirty tsps, chipped cups, and a scuddy bath. It's pleasant enough if you don't have high expectations.

TLC and a makeover required.

Posted 26-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms a bit shabby. Staff were, on the whole, friendly and helpful, however the woman on reception was somewhat surly and not a very Welcoming face to the Hotel ! Food(breakfast) was basic and very disappointing.Stick to the cereal ! Pool, steam room and jacuzzi were good but couldn't hear the fire alarm ( test) while in the steam room and the Sauna was out of order. Overall the Hotel looks tired and worn down and in need of a lot of TLC. It would be nice to see it completely revamped and updated.

Nice hotel, nice food (dinner and breakfast). Only problem was that they only has twin rooms, despite being clearly very far from full!

Resonable price but rooms a little tatty

Posted 20-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very handy and reasonably priced but they did not have a room for one of the guest on the first night which meant that two of the gents had to share a twin room that evening. Granted they were not charged for that night but it doesn't bode well, when your trip starts like that. The rooms were a little tatty..

Prefer floor two but not third floor (room 3xx)

Posted 16-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Stayed for about 11 days, second floor rooms were great but the room on third floor was so bad, windows weren't sealed and it was so windy, room was freezing even we put max on heater, shower was so small it constantly changes the temperature, either hot or cold water changes every seconds, there was a collar door next to our room which makes noise every time... service was good, food in bar was decent, breakfast were ok.

Ok hotel for 2 night business stay

Posted 14-Jan-2015
Hotel location is great, staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are fairly modern and large, bathrooms clean but walls/ceiling very thin and noise from upstairs/next door/pipework did disturb my sleep. Hotel corridors, restaurant and bar are tired and food was not very good, all slightly overcooked and bland. I didn't try the gym, spa etc. I would stay again for work due to location and cost but I would not recommend to friends for a weekend break etc.

Probably the last time I will be staying there.

Tried the "premier" room this time, which was exactly the same as a standard room except you get (a crusty) dressing gown and slippers (which weren't there). The shower was pathetic, had a trickle of water coming out of it even if you tried adjusting it. Gym was closed when I got there (late'ish in the evening) & only opens at 7.00am which didn't work for me if you want to go to gym, shower, then eat breakfast & get to a client by 8.30am
