Thank you for a wonderful stay.
From the moment we arrived we were treated as though we were the only people there. From reception to dining room and bar all members of staff were courteous and welcoming. The room and the view from it were unbelievable. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. The food in the dining room was amazing with perfect sized portions. The selection of real ales (my favourite tipple) was excellent as was the wine ( the bosses favorite). I cannot give enough praise for this hotel, in fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to stay there over Christmas next year. To all staff at the Pier House Hotel a massive thank you.

Excellent, but...
Very good indeed but was cold during the night and there were no blankets in the room. Ask beforehand! Also no toiletries in bathroom except fixed soap/shampoo dispenser.

Pier reviewed for Comfort.
A very warm welcome on arrival set a very good impression. My room was pleasantly decorated and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and with no external noises, I slept very well. The breakfast was good, again with very welcoming and helpful staff. There was limited on-street parking directly outside of the hotel or a free carpark a short walk away. A lovely hotel in a very picturesque, sleepy part of Cornwall

We only stayed one night, (this time), but had an amazing stay! Staff so helpful & couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was perfect, after a lovely nights sleep in a huge comfortable bed! Fabulous well appointed sea view room with both bath and shower in bathroom. (Room No.12). Highly recommended this Hotel!

Fabulous stay
We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous couple of nights at this hotel. The room was amazing with wonderful views - we were very lucky and had been upgraded on arrival - but everything about the hotel was great. It was in an excellent location, all the staff couldn’t have been lovelier or more welcoming and the food was superb. We would love to return.

Good and not so good
The only qualm I had was the restaurant and kitchen. The restaurant particularly at breakfast was chaotic and disorganised but the meals we had were chilly and disappointing. There was no direction from the staff as to what would happen ie serve yourself or seved. And we had to resort to asking other visitors. Some food was cold when served. By far the bar staff were exceptional and knowledgable and the room cleaning was exceptional and friendly. Day reception was wonderfully helpful. Morning staff didnt even acknowledge my good morning or look up even though the place was empty except for me so they must have heard me as i went past.

The Pier House Hotel is located in an excellent and scenic position. The property is clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a good range of options for breakfast and we also enjoyed a delicious meal one evening. The hotel is also close to a bus stop from which you can get to various sites if you don’t want to drive (good if you want to do the St Austell Brewery tour!). Charlestown is a great location for a long weekend and a stay at the Pier House Hotel makes it all the more special.

The place is nice and friendly and food was good, but my room was depressingly small and I stayed in another pub/hotel in the west country 4 weeks ago where the room was 5 times larger and cost less and it was in the peak period, so not value for money

Disappointing
No sound-proofing inside or out, could hear my neighboor's phone vibrate as if it was IN the room (let's not mention bathroom noises) and the rain sounded as if there was a leak inside. Mattress very soft, beware the "free" breakfast is a very small buffet with pretty much only highly processed sugary foods. If you want anything else, you have to pay extra

Unfortunately the menus have been mis-printed and should not have included any prices. Excellent choice
Stayed at this hotel on many occasions since 2004. Always a friendly welcome, in a clean and inviting atmosphere. Staff are so helpful & try their best to accommodate your wishes. Food excellent & choice of ales. Highly recommended.

Rooms were clean, bed comfortable. Friendly staff and the food was great. Busy but in August you expect it to be but they always had time for a chat and giving advice on the surrounding areas. Would book again with them next time I am in the area. Would highly recommend

Perfect stay!
Really enjoyable short break! Very clean room with a lovely comfortable bed. All of the staff were very friendly, especially in the restaurant, they really were very attentive. Beautiful views from the terrace overlooking the harbour. Free parking just a short walk away. Food in the restaurant was really excellent, dinner & breakfast, lots of choice. Would definitely stay here again.

Great all rounder
Amazing location and views from our very comfortable room. Huge bathroom with bath/shower and separate shower. Air con unit, binoculars, tea coffee waters biscuits. Would definitely go back. Charlestown is a quaint historical village with a few pop up restaurants around the listed harbour. Clean clear water pebble beach either side of the harbour. Very pretty indeed.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our family room was great as our teenage son had a separate bedroom within our room. Our room was clean. Breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful place
As a family of three, this is up there amongst our favourite places to visit. Pier house hotel made our holiday, the room was spotless, so clean and looked after. The staff were all so friendly, everyone we spoken to made time for us, I was actually gutted we had to leave. Charlestown has everything you need on your doorstep, some lovely eating places and restaurants. We visited on Regatta week, it was so nice to see the local community come together to do simple things and everyone seem to enjoy it, we felt very welcomed into there local area. We are definitely going to visit this hotel again soon.
