we had a very happy holiday, the hosts were excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean, there were masses of choice for breakfast, free parking, can't fault it. Would go again.

Fantastic hosts in an idyllic location. Walking distance to Portmellon for paddle boarding is less than 5 mins and with a nice pub.

Unacceptable dark and dingy en-suite
Honestly, I haven’t seen a bathroom like the en-suite in our room since the 80’s. John and Elica are a nice couple but they have let themselves down. The hand basin had a crack in it and wallpaper was peeling off the wall. It was generally tired and not conducive to the room rate charged. We were on a road trip and this was the only blot on an otherwise enjoyable trip. Frankly, room 6 should not be used until this is rectified. Honestly, as far as condition of the room is concerned, this is the worst B&B we have stayed in for some time. Very disappointed

Worth it!
It was a great stay in a brilliantly run hotel. The owners are really friendly and the amenities in the room and the hotel are great. Really good to see their focus on sustainability. You cant beat the view you get from the room windows or the patio outside.

A nice find in Mevagissey.
Very enjoyable two night stay in scenic fishing village with Mevagissey Bay Hotel just a short walk away. Really enjoyed the enhanced continental breakfast with limitless toast and croissants. Very spacious room featured a luxurious walk in shower.

The room was fine. Disappointed it did not do any evening meals as it was a long climb from the nearest restaurant. It was also raining and this reduced the enjoyment.

The view over the bay is breath taking, this would have been enough… but in fact the hotel was perfect. John and Elleke were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was absolutely delicious, so many options and things to try every day. Room 7 was comfortable, clean and bright with fantastic views. We will definitely be back and I can’t wait! Thank you

Great location with parking not the warmest of welcomes but put that down to being short staffed the room was a little tired but comfortable and very clean with superb sea views, there is a building site in its early stages right next door so just bear that in mind when booking , overall a good place to stay if visiting Mevagissey and a decent breakfast to boot.

The staff were great and really looked after us. The view was amazing!! We could hear the room above us walking about etc but that’s to be expected in a multi-storey property.

Great hotel, convenient to walk into Mevagissy, off road parking including EV charging. Great staff, lovely sea views. good breakfast. Shower in room a bit weak was only negative.

Great Cornish Getaway
Very nice B&B. Great views. Struggled with evening food due to the town being so busy plus the local chippy was closed but no fault of the Hotel. Just a busy time of year and a very popular place

beautiful hotel, lovely room with fantastic view. breakfast excellent and very efficiently and safely served. no parking available 1st night but free on-street parking nearby. bit of an uphill trek coming back from town but so take that into account if it might be an issue. staff all friendly and helpful. would recommend this hotel as a great example of a traditional establishment, such a pleasant change from corporate nondescript alternatives

A bit chilly
The hotel was spotless and fully covid compliant. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our only complaint was that the heating in room 11 was in adaquate and we were cold. We didn't have control and were told it didn't come on until 6 pm. It didn't come on very early in the morning of either. Fortunately the bath robes provided eased our discomfort.

B & B only but with lovely view and staff.
Wonderful staff best asset. Our main problem was location at the top of very steep hill plus steep steps up to hotel from car park. As there is no restaurant, eating out meant a very difficult walk to Meva to try to get into a restaurant (another unrealized problem) or fetch a takeaway. Most guests chose this option and sat like refugees eating out of bags on the terrace..Driving out the other way meant risking the narrow lanes in the dark. Parking was also limited and nobody wanted to lose their space once parked. The staff were all lovely and went the extra mile for guests. Covid rules were generally followed after initial teething problems when we arrived. Our deluxe room was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable and ripped on base. The chair and stool were impractical. When sat on stool.you were below table height. (This was changed on request to dining chair). Shower was poor and tray slow to drain. Large terrace was never cleaned during visit and partition from general terrace was raw unpainted garden fence. Sun loungers would be beneficial. Supplied chairs and table ok. Lovely views from terrace, dining room and comfortable bar. Excellent breakfast with local produce and fresh fruit salad, all served cheerfully . The staff genuinely care about their guests.

Very many thanks for you detailed feedback. The hotel has not had a restaurant for more than five years which we do try to make clear on all the booking websites. Restaurants in the whole of the UK are operating under difficult conditions and sadly Mevagissey is no exception ie limited availability. We do try to help guests by offering our dining room for takeaways. I apologise re the unpainted privacy screen. As you saw it was brand new but the weather over the last week has not allowed us to paint it. It was a shame we were not advised about the shower tray at the time as we would have fixed it immediately - sorry! Finally, thank you for the very positive feedback about our staff. Beautiful quaint hotel will fab sea views
Lovely staff friendly and helpful. Room very clean and lovely view although felt overpriced as double bed With fab sea view but over looking Hotel roof. King size sea view same price at £179 per night . Breakfast was was 10 out 10.
