“Very nice for the money!”
Their customer service is excellent. Cudos to Frank for going the extra mile to make our stay pleasant and our touring extra fun. We'll be back!
“good hotel!!!”
I love the customer service
“Nice spot for weekend getaway”
I can't understand how this hotel could average a 2. We found the staff to be extrememly helpful and friendly. The breakfast, while lacking variety, was quite good - the staff actually prepared the Belgian waffles for you. The pool and pool area was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, the TV worked as did the refrigerator. When we first checked in, the room did have a bit of an odor - not offensive, just noticable, but the room faced the marsh area, so that could have contributed. It didn't really bother us - travelled for years with my son's hockey team - we always pack Febreeze and Airwick! We have nothing negative to say about hotel other than it's just a bit beyond walking distance to the historic area - we usually like to park the car for the weekend and walk everywhere. Minor detail. We would definitley stay again.
“Do you like the sound of freight trains? Good.”
This hotel advertised it's pet friendly policy, which is the only reason we chose it. We had no expectations as to the quality of the experience we would have. The row of rooms which included ours was Very Close to a very active railroad track. During the 16 or so hours of our stay, five very very long freight trains passed, even in the wee hours of the morning. Pet friendly hotels, in my experience, usually feature dark, patterned (stain-hiding) carpet; this one was no exception. Kind of scary, but what you'd expect. The bathroom was bizarre, with a toilet that was too high off the ground (I am not short) and the shower floor had the stained and tattered remnants of what may have once been a non-slip surface. This is a motel, btw. We drove to the door of our ground floor room. (I believe it refers to itself as a hotel?) The continental breakfast had the waffle maker - how cool is that? Makes it all worth it, right?
“Satisfied”
We booked a queen room but whenever we got in it is smelled like sulfur and the AC was not working and the room was small! We went to front desk and they were very helpful and moved us to a King room which had more space and did not smell. I would recommend booking a double room or a king they have more room. You can walk to the historic district, but some people would probably not want to. You have to cross a busy highway and then you are on one of the main downtown roads. If you cross the highway there is a Denny's which has good service, and a Zaxby's is right next door to the hotel and a Mc Donalds is across the highway also. Both of the trolleys will pick you up, we did Ripleys, and the drivers were very helpful and friendly. I felt safe walking by myself during the day but I do not think I would walk back to the hotel after dark alone. I recommend taking one of the trolley tours. The beaches are also nice. We took the Ripley's bus to the light house and then took a cab to the beach. It was only a $5 ride and then a $13 ride back to the hotel. We just did not like driving in the traffic, so the cab was a nice way to go. Overall happy with our stay. Hottub was nice, but pool was too cold. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff is very friendly. I would stay again, but will probably opt for a closer hotel next time.
“Not impressed with the hotel.”
Great location! Good service!
“Great location, friendly staff!”
The staff were overly friendly. Breakfast was great. Once we parked the car at check-in we didn't move it. We walked to everything.
“Good value for price”
Good location; god value for price; good service.
“Will not go again.”
Was not satified at all. Didn't have refrigerator and microwave and required a fee to have that accomodation. The garbage can was so small that I had to use some of my bags I brought from home for trash.
“excellent location and friendly”
The hotel is conveniently located. Staff was very very friendly. Complimentary breakfast was fun with people sitting together. The hotel is pet friendly, yet the room was immaculately clean. Nothing fancy, but a good solid place to spend the night in a city notorious for overpriced "historic" hotels. Would definitely recommend it.
