“Great hotel”
Very nice hotel, excellent staff and nice restaurants and bar. Thoroughly relaxing holiday.
“great hotel”
contemporary beautiful hotel, staff were very nice as overall we didnt find croatians very friendly. very clean and comfortable and wont disappoint any kind of traveller. not within walking distance of the town so need car or taxi
“An outstanding hotel by world standards”
I stayed at Le Meridien Lav in Split, Croatia and can genuinely express the view that this hotel is exceptional. The location and facilites are outstanding and I would recommend to discerning travellers. Food and beverages, facilities, swimming pool and spa centre, bars and location by the Adriatic make this an outstanding hotel. The only minor criticism is the confused stuation with car valet-the hotel needs to train all staff to ensure consistent understanding of arrangements exists. Staff at this hotel are friendly, housekeepingf is excpetionally efficient and having travelled to 40 countries and stayed in many five star hotels this would have to be one of the best. It is located about 15 minutes out of Split so one needs to use the shuttle service or rent a car but othewise there is nothing negative about this property. Pricing is at the higher level-comparable to similar hotels in Australia or USA but they are not unreasonable given the standard of the hotel.
“Family friendly coastal escape”
Clean comfortable hotel ideally located with lot ofnfacilities. Note that park view is a noisy view on a highway to Dubrovnik or a brick wall facing car park. Restaurant service lacks some of the basics.
“Won't be coming back”
Definitely not a 5 star hotel it claims to be. Overpriced and completely overrun with tourists to the extreme. Possible queues for breakfast. Public beach only. Insist upon staying at the front of the hotel if you go, otherwise your sea view would mostly consist of concrete roof tops.
“The best Penguin club for children and excellant facilities”
Beautiful hotel with fantastic surroundings and marina. Top facilities, gym, sauna, romanabaths, swimming pools indoor and outdoor and very clean and modern.. The most impressive part of the hotel was the Penguins club for children. We were very impressed with the level of care, friendliness and passion that the staff displayerd. Excellant activities for the children, you can relax, go shopping or use the facilities whilst your child is in safe hands at the club.Swimming lesons included with qualified instructors twice a day.Our child learnt more in lessons at the hotel than a term of lessons back in the UK. A special mention and thankyou to Anna Maria and Loeonarda whom our child became very fond off, but the rest of the staff in the club were just as good. The club also has a free buffet from 7 to 9pm, you can drop them of anytime between these hours, after the staff will then take them on to extra activities such as disco, cinema, sports activities. We have travelled to quiet a few countries but the Penguin club has been the best childrens club!!! The 2 restaurants by the Marina that are not part of the hotel were average. Nothing very special & quiet pricey. Away from the resort across the road theer is a cafe that the locals keep busy called Fabios. Perfect for lunch or breakfast ,not very pricey but very nice quality food. The only negative I can comment on regarding the room, was that there was only one small wardrobe to share between 3 People. Seaview great
“Very impressed. Excellent service.”
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The service was excellent and the staff was focused on providing an enjoyable experience. The scenery is beautiful. The resort dining areas (especially the pizza/grill kitchen) and bars seem reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. The concierge provided excellent insight into area attractions and cost effective ways to enjoy them.
“Great hotel, more of a family place”
My partner and I had a great experience at Le Meridien Lav. The service is impeccable and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The pool, beach, bar, restaurants, etc are all very well maintained. My only criticisms (and they're slight) are that 1) this place is loaded with children... there's not a moment that you don't hear a screaming child which isn't exactly what we were expecting from a five star resort, and 2) the bed was really uncomfortable. The mattress felt cheap and even made rubbery-sounding squeaks as you settled in. Not tragic consdering the terrace, view, great room service, etc., but again didn't feel five star to either of us. I would still recommend it for a great visit to AMAZING Croatia. Loved it.
“Beware tight connections”
Travelling out to Croatia was a lot more stressful than it could have been. Croatian airlines offered us a connecting flight from Zagreb to Split, where the connection time was less than an hour. Our plane left Heathrow later than expected and of course, we missed the connection, landing in Zagreb about five minutes before our connection left. They didn't hold the flight, although we were assured that they knew there were several other passengers in the same predicament. We had a seven hour wait in the airport, robbing us of half a day of a five day trip. Other than that, Croatia is beautiful and we had a wonderful time at the Meridien
“real 5 stars hotel”
Very nice hotel. stayed 2 nights in the middle of September. Great spa, nice beach. very comfortable room with great bed. a little far from Split center. but i heard that the bus #60 can be used. good breakfast.
