Very Disappointed , we stayed for 1 night last Monday 11/04/22 but Room was so cold without Heater which didn't work at all & also no Hot water too. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Embarrassing…
Embarrassing One star is too many, this hotel is a disgrace and the fact it’s marketed as a “Wyndham Trademark collection” is almost hilarious. The 3 rooms I booked were all the same so this clearly isn’t an isolated incident or an oversight. The rooms were filthy, carpets heavily soiled with what looked like blood stains and definitely hadn’t been hoovered in a while, covered in cigarette burns, cobwebs everywhere, damaged furniture, strong smell of vomit, mouldy showroom, damp stains all over the ceiling, broken toilet seat and to top it off the toilet had urine in it on arrival. Simply appalling! Staff when available weren’t approachable or at all welcoming, the check in experience was all a bit vague, to the point where we had to look for our own rooms. No one around at checkout so we simply left. To put it bluntly this place is a shambles and a health hazard, definitely living up to its STAINdrop name

Cheap but not too happy.
Booked a room including breakfast. Was told in the morning that this is only continental (which was a croissant and juice so not much). Hot breakfast would be nearly £7. This being despite the cost of a room with and without breakfast being £7. I ordered the breakfast and explained to them I had already paid in my room cost. They agreed once they saw nowhere in the advert did it state it was not for the hot food. Bathroom smelled. Bedding was pretty poor. No mattress protectors. The only redeeming feature was its location for me and it was cheap. Wouldn't stay again.

Nice place
Nice clean room mattress is a bit flat big room quick and easy booking in its a bit expensive food wise pu down the road is ok more food options the nearest shops about 15 mins uphill with a few more pubs but going back to the trainstation there are a quite a few more and restaurants and takeaways

You get what you pay for I suppose. Property is dated and rub down, windows didn't close, curtains were torn and hanging off the rails, radiators never been bled so had to switch ofd due to horrendous noise. Although it states breakfast is included beware, they will charge £10 each for a full english that is awful and the 'included breakfast' is a croissant and some cereal. There is a subway and big asda just down the road, go there for food!

I'd stay again but lots to improve on really
Had the potential to be a really nice place with fairly modern fixtures and fittings. However there were wine stains on the carpet, the shower head was a bit grotty. Bedding was nice and clean but average in terms of comfort. Good on site facilities, short staffed though. Took half hour to check in and although I paid for breakfast there was limited options.

Arrived, my room was allocated to somebody else as there name also ended in G. They got us another room - stank of smoke and had a rubber glove on the smoke alarm to stop it going off. The carpet was disgusting I had to ask somebody to hoover it which they did straight away. There was empty shower gels in the bathroom and the toilet seat wasn’t connected to the toilet pan. The next morning we were snowed in so the customers dug out the car park with no help or input from the staff. The guy on reception was trying and apologetic but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Lovely Hotel, but some wirk needed.
Overall my stay was a pleasant one, hotel was clean and staff friendly and accomodating. Food both dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. And hotel communal areas were clean and well kept. I was told on checking in that the free wifi would not be available as routers were being replaced, which I accepted. I stayed overnight in room 1, my only issues were a very cheap matress on the double bed which was not upto hotel standard and lead to a very restless nights sleep, the central heating in the room was not available, despite turning the radiators to full heat when I arrived. Finally there was a water leak on the bathroom bidet, which overtime left a very unpleasant smell in the room. I would love to see this hotel do well and could see that work was being done to improve things after a recent change of ownership.

not possible to had a shower after a hard days work for 2 days because was not possible to adjust the water for the bath always running very hot burning water, the ventilation in the bathroom wasn't working so all the whole room smelled,I told the receptionist to fix it but nothing happened.I demand that the money I paid be returned to me.

Stayed one night and it was perfectly adequate for what we wanted. However there was a black rubbish bag in the corridor outside our room together with a hoover when we arrived and it was still there the next morning. There was a sofa in the room which had a big hole in it with the stuffing coming out. With a few improvements it could be a very nice hotel.

Disappointing
The Hotel opened recently after the Pandemic closure. The carpets were stinky and the towers were not fresh and it was too hot in the night - couldn't sleep at all. I wouldn't recommend until they do a deep cleaning or changing the carpets in the rooms. However the staff were kind and can't fault them.

Absolutely filthy
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Every surface in the room was full of dust and the carpets and bed had red stains all over it. This place needs an emergency deep clean. Im offended that I have been charged £120 to stay here. Its beyond me how no one could be bothered to at least give the room a polish before we arrived. It was a room for x4 people and we had 1 towel between us and 2 tiny cups. We did ask for more and this was arranged. So unhappy with the cleanliness. See pictures.

For the money paid and for what I needed this was very good - within walking distance for me but has a large car park with plenty spaces - it’s never going to be a 4 star hotel but very good value for money - staff friendly rooms big and beds comfortable

Christmas visit with family
We have family close by and stay here at various points through the year. All the staff in the hotel, restaurant and bar are always friendly, helpful and professional. If I have one complaint it’s that the beds are a little too firm for our liking. But it’s clean, spacious rooms and in good condition.

This was our first visit to this hotel, our stay was comfortable, excellent serves by all the staff, ensuring we had a pleasant stay. Also we were pleasantly surprised by the good quality food in the restaurant and breakfast. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
