Whilst the hotel is brilliantly located next to the Singapore River and a 2 minute walk from the array of eateries on the waterfront, not to mention the amazing views of Marina Bay Sands, the hotel is not in the best of shape. Some TLC is needed - the hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like an old fish tank and the door to the stairwell was so swollen with water that it was starting to puff out and peel. There was no hot water for the 3 days I was there...although I was given the option to go to a 'sister hotel' nearby for a hot shower. Hmmm... If you just want a clean bed at the end of your sightseeing day in Singapore, it's a great value hotel option!

What a great location- night life all around. The friendly staff went out of their way to help me get around( even lend out power point converters for free) I felt safe and had a small window i could open. The room was arty and so is the whole hotel I thoroughly reccommend this hotel- once you know your way you could get the airport train within a short walking distance. Love it - will visit again

Excellent location and a very good place to explore Singapore. Was able to walk to most places. For travellers who just need a place to sleep and will be out most of the day. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. It is value for money in that it is affordable and in a good location therefore it is no surprise that it is dated and not the cleanest.

My studio room was as small as a closet at less than 65 square feet and to add insult to injury, I was unable to sit on the toilet comfortably because of how terribly tiny the glass enclosure was. Also, the air conditioner leaked at least 300ml of water onto the floor during the night and I had to put a towel down to prevent it from going anywhere. The building itself is in desperate need of major renovation. Will never stay here again. (No hate towards the housekeepers, they were lovely)

Clover, the arts, is a convenient and friendly hotel, close to everything. The first room we got was so small, we had to move to a larger room, which was great.

Its quite a basic hotel but each room is lovely decorated and one of the most comfortable beds I have had in any hotel in the world. The staff where incredibly helpful and the location is excellent. I visited for work trip and come regularly for business. It was a pleasant stay

You get what you pay for
Hotel is very dated, Rooms were small. Desk staff was inconsistent. Now for the negative: refrigerator, bathroom, and bedding were pretty disgusting. A/C was shut off every time I left the room, so the desk attendant had to reset and I had to wait until the heat and humidity were brought under control I don’t know how this hotel got ratings so high. It’s really marginal if you only need a place to sleep. If you plan to spend more time in the room, you’re better off doing it elsewhere.

The place is clean. I stayed at 5th floor as the location is near a big road so it is noisy all the way until midnight. The hotel and room is old, with cracks on toilet floor and wall. The drawings in the room is not conducive..

The location is excellent for me, with Clarke Quay and Boat Quay and Chinatown and City Centre at your doorstep. The rooms are not large, but perfectly cleaned and surprisingly well appointed, considering the very reasonable price. A great option to get everything you really need in full comfort without the price of a major hotel.

Lovely little hotel near the centre of the city!
I had a great overnight stay in this hotel. The midday checkout, the excellent price of the single room, the friendliness of the staff, and the luggage storage all contributed to a great trip for myself! Only downside is the old look of the room, it felt like it needed an upgrade. Apart from that I’d definitely stay again and recommend to others!

The room itself was clean and well looked after, but insanely small. It took a bit for me to adjust so I could access my pack without blocking anything. I did have a good stay here and would come back again. The staff were really nice and the check in/out was easy.

Great staff, very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The one thing I didn’t like was the bathroom door was glass and didn’t seal as well as not having a direct fan, if you are staying as a couple be very comfortable with one another or use the lobby facilities. Excellent value for a terrific location
I thought the hotel offered terrific value for the money, and it was right in the middle of all the action. Excellent location. Remember, this is not advertised as a ritzy hotel, so you need to keep that in mind with other reviews. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel did everything that I expected for what they advertised. I was there for a week, and could not have done better for the money anywhere else in the city. I would stay there again.

This room is exactly as advertised - it is definitely a very small room. I just about managed to fit in my large suitcase. There is air con in the room, but something I hadn't considered - because the room is very small, the air con sounds really noisy, but the air con is definitely needed. In the mornings, there were midges in the shower which I had to shower hose out everyday - pretty grim. I then realised there were quite a few in the lift etc so I didn't bother complaining to staff. There were about 5-10 every morning. The location of this hotel is excellent - that was pretty much the only highlight of staying here. If you can cope with being in a small room then go for it. It was one of my regret buys of my trip - it wasn't for me - but I coped for 3 days!

Hotel clover Singapore review
Great location and super helpful and friendly staff. When I had issues tried to resolve as soon as possible. My only issue is re housekeeping I had to ask when toilet roll was about to run out and I don’t feel it is unreasonable to ask that there should always be a spare replaced if need be whenever they clean my room daily but to be honest that is trivial compared to fact I stayed 10 nights and whilst sheets and pillows were changed day 8 the duvet cover was never changed and I knew that was the case as a chocolate stain was still there after pillows and hopefully sheet was changed. That was my only complaint really. The location and ease in using public transport were amazing. The premises does need a bit of maintenance but that would not stop my going there again or recommending it to others

1. The location is amazing, very convenient! 2. The room condition: first 3 days in a very small room with no window. I didn't feel have any fresh air! Upgraded to a bigger room with windows but cant open at all! I emailed to request a room with window but No response No results! 3.Service: Good and bad! Michael and Noor are nice,especially Noor is very nice and helpful! But the light skin lady ( from Philippines ) needs being more respectful and practicing English.
