"My family and I stayed overnight at the hotel with our two small pets. The pet fee was $20 per pet, per night. Upon check-in, the front desk associate was pleasant, friendly, and welcoming.
The following morning, while attempting to take a shower, I slipped and fell in the bathtub. As a result, I injured my left wrist and twisted my ankle. The bathtub did not appear to have any non-slip coating or other slip-resistant safety features.
When I checked out, I informed the front desk associate about the incident. The associate was a light-skinned woman wearing a purple head wrap and very long nails. Rather than expressing concern or empathy regarding my injuries, she became defensive and focused on explaining why the hotel does not provide bath mats or slip-resistant coatings in its tubs. I asked whether there was an incident report form that I could complete. Instead of addressing my request, she continued explaining the hotel's reasoning for not having slip-resistant measures in place. After thanking her for her time, I informed her that I would be contacting the hotel's customer service department regarding the incident."
