This is a wonderful, peaceful and gorgeous property at the end of the road in Seward. Kendall is an excellent and engaging host, and runs a beautiful establishment in a beautiful location. At times it can be a little challenging to get there since bus service doesn't run and some taxis in Seward don't like to go down the dirt road, but call Bob at 907-362-9090 and he will take you there. For us the isolation of the place made it all worthwhile. You can sit for hours and just take in the majestic mountains and the bay - it's paradise!

We are sorry we didn't meet your expectations. You did stay in one of our budget-friendly rooms, and we did shuttle you from the train station. There are plenty of taxi's available to and from town if you choose to not have transportation. What you forgot to mention was our breakfast which was included, was second to none, and our lodge has the best view in town and not to forget we are one of the highest-rated accommodations in Seward.

Really enjoyed breakfast sitting outside by the bay. Full breakfast was excellent. The views were spectacular. Definitely worth the short drive from downtown district.

Breathtaking views
View from the breakfast/common area are the best. Room had rusty look with wolf theme but was clean. Owners are friendly and helpful. Simple breakfast. Kids enjoyed free cookies :) and lemonade.

Lovely stay in Seward!
This was an adorable place to stay in Seward. We saw whales from the room and from the dining area. I would rate this higher if I could! The couple that owns the place were very friendly.

Great place to stay
Owner was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean but small, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was great. View was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again but would book earlier to get a room with a view.

We loved our stay at resurrection lodge! The view is just breathtaking! It is a bit off the beaten path but not far from town. It is nice and quite you can enjoy the sound of the ocean.

The property was nice and the amenities and staff, breakfast etc were wonderful. The linens were soft and we had a good nights sleep. The room was adequate and the Alaskan decor was a nice touch. The road driving back to the hotel (3 miles of it) was full of pot holes and bumpy. They were grading it the day we left. From the pictures we expected a room with a view. We got a standard room which was like any other hotel room anywhere. No view, and not very private. We had to keep the shades pulled and the room was dark. The dark paint and dark furnishings didn’t help. The bathroom was tiny with a super small shower. The sink was outside the bathroom. The small shower was probably what I disliked the most.

We do appreciate your feedback. We did review all of the photos for the Standard room none of which showed anything but inside room pictures. Our description also doesn't describe it as having a bay view. It is, however, the least expensive accommodation we offer and yes it is a basic room. No matter which room you have most guests enjoy their time on our heated deck overlooking the bay and mountains. You did stay over the rainest few days we have had and the city doesn't maintain the road on the weekends.To get the best information and best room it is always important to visit the website and book 6 months to a year in advance.

We loved that it was out and away from the business in downtown Seward. Loved the rooms overlooking Resurrection Bay and the hosts were great, very informative and nice. We will be visiting again soon.

Awesome Lodge right on the bay
The lodge was incredible. The owners were wonderful and the views were amazing. There were some small maintenance items that will likely be dealt with, but nothing to detract from our stay.

I would love to come back
What a beautiful place to unwind. The location is gorgeous- away from the town and a little bit further away from Miller’s landing where you can get some peace and quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish we could’ve stayed longer. The owners were lovely and very personable. The cook, Patrick had a lot of information for guests and was always available. Their breakfast in the morning and cookies in the afternoon are much appreciated. It was so nice to hang out on the deck as well. They provide heat lamps for cold days which really helps. I would love to come back to this hotel.

Whales supreme
We chose this property since we had booked a whale watching cruise in Seward. We were able to see whales on the cruise, but WOW, they were right in front of us while we ate breakfast both mornings!!! Could not have had a better stay and would definitely come back for the sea life and the hiking in the area.

One of the highlights of Alaska
This place exceeded all our expectations, the property is its own little piece of heaven. The lodge is right on the water where we saw MANY forms of sea life regularly including sea otters, seals, porpoises, etc. The owners are very friendly people who are more than happy to tell you about the area and just good company, there are fresh baked goods all throughout the day each day, breakfast is fantastic, and overall the stay is incredibly relaxing. If possible, get a room overlooking the water, I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. Property is also very close to all the shops in town and some fantastic hikes as well. We would love to return and I’d recommend this place to anybody.
