“Excellent for families”

Excellent hotel! We had huge trouble finding somewhere willing to take 2 adults and 4 year old twins in the same room, but really fell on our feet with this hotel. The rooms are a good size and have a divider between the double and twin sleeping areas, with separate windows and curtains and independently operated lights, so that the adults don't have to sit in darkness once the little ones have gone to bed. Great service and a convenient 15 minute walk to the centre of Rouen. Also very easy to find, and very handy, safe underground car park. Highly recommended.

Area recommendations

Recommend Place du Vieux Marche for beautiful scenery and restaurants. The whole city is beautiful so it's hard to select any one part!!

Dining

Chex Pepe pizzeria (Rue Fontenelle) is excellent, as well as La Petite Auberge (rue Martainville) for typical French cuisine at reasonable prices.

“good choice”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Novotal, the rooms were very modern and quite large with good air conditioning. facility's were excellent. I felt that the night reception possibly needs to show a bit more intersest with customer service whether it was because I could not speak french or what I do not know but he did not seem to really want to help. Checkin staff member and breakfast people were all very good.

“Just normal!!!”

Nothing exceptional about this one - just normal hotel and what would you expect for this money, surely not a 5* hotel. All was good except smelley 2 pillows in the room which I had to put in the cupboard - I assume that was the smell of stale after not drying bedding properly - not very nice.... Hm!!! Otherwise not bad, not bad...

Walking distance from Hotel to the town centre is about 15 good minutes

“Suitehotel Rouen”

Very convenient stopover location for our drive to the south of France and back. Not a bad location by the river with a couple of decent restaurants very close by and a short into the View Marche area of town to see the Jeanne D'Arc church and old streets.

Area recommendations

Good restaurants by the river opposite the hotel with nice terraces outside to watch the sunset. Also easy to walk into the old part of town, around the Vieux Marche area, to see the sites and the old streets.

Getting there

Easy to get there from the main motorways heading north and south with junctions pretty close by.

Dining

Good restaurants by the river with terraces. Plenty of restaurants in the Vieux Marche area which is a 10 minute walk away, but they are mainly of the tourist type...

“Great stopover before heading to Calais to return car - ferry to Dover”

Only stayed one night so the hotel was very convenient for our needs. Comfortable and clean. Able to open window and have fresh air instead of airconditioning.

“Suite Novotel Ruen”

Albergo moderno e comfortevole, senza fronzoli, colazione modesta ma soddisfacente, servizio da parte dello staff un pò freddo, minimalista. Ma è un comportamento che abbiamo notato un pò ovunque in Francia negli alberghi e nei ristoranti. E' collocato lungo il fiume con una bella passeggiata e dei ristoranti poco distanti. Tutto sommato positivo. Il centro storico sta a circa 20 minuti dall'albergo.
