“Met my needs, clean comfortable, no frills, secure”

I was in town for an evening and morning meeting, worked perfectly. I was less than 5 minutes from my meeting in Montecito by the beach. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and room well sized with a window that opens.

The rooms are clean and big. The hotel is nice, highly reomend

“it's ok”

the place was alright. it "looked" clean, and the location was close to the beach. i know it's common practice for hotels to nickel and dime you, but i didn't care for the price tag on the bottled water in the room. it would be nice if the comp you that kind of thing or a least not have an insulting mark up on it.

“Great Find”

Very spacious, comfortable and clean room. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom even supplied with box of toothpaste! Parking was right by, off road and free. Generally very quiet and although 100yds from a railroad track we only saw 3 or 4 trains in a 2 day stay. Full use of facilities at nearby Hyatt including pool. Staff at reception were very pleasant!

“a good value”

The Parkside Inn is a viable lesser expensive alternative to Santa Barbara's high cost of hotels. The rooms were somewhat dated but large and contained both a fridge and a microwave. The mattresses as previously mentioned in others reviews are not the best, being somewhat "springy" but comfortable. Linens, down comforter and pillows were nicer than what I'd expected. The neighborhood I thought was fine. It's not State Street but you're not paying those kinds of prices. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

“Very Comfy”

I travel a lot and stay in 2 and 3 rated hotels. The Parkside was above average. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, television, and radio alarm all working and in good condition. I worked all day for 5 days and enjoyed returning to a very clean and open windowed room. It was quiet too. They have an elevator to the 2nd floor which my aching knees appreciated. Always had parking in the lot, no extra charge. Oh, they have room service for meals. Didn't try it, but available if you need it. I would go back.

“Underwhelmed”

After staying up the road in a modest hotel last year, I thought that this would be a step up, especially given that the cost was 50% more than the previous hotel. When I got there, I finally found a place to park, only to find that the check-in was at the Hyatt which is around the corner. The hotel was directly across from a baseball field that was noisy and busy, which made me keep the sliding glass door closed Fri and Sat days. And the traffic from highway 101 along with the train going up/down the coast made me keep it closed in the later hours. I spent almost no time in the room (thank goodness) and the bed was very comfortable so yes, it was a good place to sleep. Definitely not a good place to be awake. Not going back.

“Not a good stay.”

The hotel was hard to find...When you do find you are requoired to go around the corner and down a few blocks to regester at another hotel lobby...then you get a key card and go back to the original hotel and find parking and enter thru a locked gate and try to find your room...Our room was next to the ice maker with motor noise all night...It was not a good choice on our part...Pick another Hotel.

“Good value.”

We had no problems and enjoyed our stay. This hotel is a good value. We walked to State street, but we like any excuse to go for a walk. This hotel may be a bit too far away from the nightlife for some people, but it worked out well for us. It is right by the zoo.
