"A little underwhelming, it's a nice enough hotel, but it's a little dated, the bed was very squeaky and not very large and we weren't impressed with the way we were greeted. First time travelling with our 4 month old so I forgot to put them on the reservation (that's on me for sure) but rather than an understanding, accommodating welcome, we were greeted with an dismissive, accusatory tone that I would not expect from a 5 star establishment that cost over R2000/night. "A short two nights stay at the Southern Sun Hotel in central Cape Town at the end of our cruise. Had to wait a long time to be taken to our room so we left our luggage in the hotel store and went to the seafront until late afternoon which was very nice. Had a nice snack in the evening in the lovely hotel bar. Didn’t get much chance to use the pool as it was evening time and quite dark. Would love to visit this hotel again in the future."
