“Best Chain Option for Sandpoint”
Hotel is decidely vintage, but with very friendly staff. Very quiet between rooms, slight road noise from town traffic. Loved that the room had three mirrors and separate sinks between dressing area and bathroom. Plenty of outlets. Comfortable bed. Hotel is scattered between three buildings over two blocks, some with inside entrances and others with outside. Photo looks much newer than actual hotel appears in person. Of similar priced offerings in same area, this would be the best option, but expected more for the price paid.
“Sandpoint Boat Show”
Cozy bed, quiet room - kinda confusing with the lobby in different building, but no problem after we figured it out. Bed and pillows were super comfortable! A little walk to broadwalk and lake, but nice walk. Would stay there again for sure.
“nice place to stay.”
nice place to stay.
“Excellent place to stay in Sandpoint, Idaho!!!”
Great place to stay. Close to everything!!!
“No sleep after 6 am :(”
The hotel was a little older, but still well kept and clean. Staff was great. There was an onsite restaurant which was nice. The only complaint I had was that the hotel was right on the freeway into town, which made it easy to find, but it was also very noisy on the highway side of the hotel, even at 6 am.
“Freezing Cold and Snow in the Room.”
Please not that I stayed during a Zero or below zero evening. The room it's self was okay however the door didn't seat properly and snow was blowing in under the door frame. The room it's self was VERY cold and basically uninhabitable without constant heating.
“Great stay”
Great Location and a nice room.
“,Best Hotel stay in a very long time.”
Bed very comfortable, room really clean. Best night sleep away from home Complimentary breakfast offered enough food to satisfy most folks.
“Just OK”
So it wasn't the greatest hotel in Sandpoint but I don't think there is much in Sandpoint anyways..the beds were uncomfortable and the airconditioning was so noisy that it made it difficult to sleep. It was clean and I did like that there was a seperate sink and mirror from the shower. If you just need to stay a night its ok. And really, could they changed the decor...the log look is a bit old. And if you wanted to enjoy the pool you'd need to walk outside down the side walk to get to it.
“Clean, safe, easy to downtown”
This is the second time we've stayed at this La Quinta in Sandpoint. It's a nice hotel, convenient to downtown if you like to walk about. The breakfast is always nice and basic - hot homemade waffles and bisquits and gravy - along with cereal, toast, pastries. The pool is nicely sized and accessible through the second floor. It's a bit chilly (I don't think it's heated) but it is totally swimmable. You can see it pretty much from the second building rooms without a problem. The laundry room is clean and is stocked with books to read while you wait (mostly Harlequin Romances of various vintages and Canadian travel books). Make sure you have quarters since there is no place to make change in the laundry room. My one gripe which can't be helped. The trains. The train line runs through the center of Sandpoint it seems. I don't think there is any place that isn't within reach of the sound of the trains at two am. It's the only thing.
