The only good thing about this hotel is the price and maybe the location. I was told I would get a code in my email to access my key via an automatic machine, but I never received one. Upon arrival at midnight, we had to use the intercom system to get a hold of someone to finally let us in because the front desk is only occupied from 730-noon. It was only stairs to get to our room. The bathroom was so small 2 people could barely fit in it, it was out of soap, and the shower didn't drain, nearly flooding the whole thing. The hard water stains covered the entire shower and sink. The heat was on in May. The windows opened but the upper one was opened when we arrived and we were not able to close it. The storage was non-existent, and when we went to check out at 720 am, no one was there, so we had to just leave our key. Overall, we are young and wanted to save money, but I would never stay there again.

It is very convenient to the train station and to several of the sights. It was easy to walk where we wanted to go. Although the hotel doesn't have dining, there are several excellent restaurants in the area.

Came for Xmas market & city experience. Can’t fault hotel except for the road noise - & I’m being really picky here! Impressed that could get in room earlier than check in time. Key collection process was painfree. Only staff we met was at checkout & very pleasant.

It was a good stay-easy access and room.was comfortable especially the beds and shower. Loved the proximity to Mirabell and place to recharge the Fortress. Nice reception service in the morning!

Code for key to door was emailed. No problem getting in. Large, quaint room. We did not reserve parking in advance… not sure how to do that… so parked on street from 7:00 free till 9:00 am. Walking distance to old town with Christmas market stalls on the way.

Disappointing
We got allocated the top floor room - there was no elevator and having to carry luggages up 3 flight of stairs with no assistance, was definitely a feat. Then we had to carry everything down the next day. The doors were the traditional lock and key (only 1 key provided) so if someone else leaves, you either choose to NOT lock the door (or risk not being able to leave the room in an emergency) or having to climb down 3 flights of stairs to let your partner in. The condition of the room and toilet were also just mediocre. Would not stay more than as a transit hotel- even that was disappointing for the price we paid.

The room door and front door situation was complicated for our family because there was only one key and both doors had to be manually unlocked. Other than that, it wasnt a big problem, just a minor inconvenience.

This was an extremely basic hotel, bed, shower & shelf desk. However, I would recommend it. The staff are excellent. The cleaning staff make a lot of effort. Kettle & iron available at reception. Incredibly well located <10 minutes from train station & Mirabell Park. No air but fan in room. For a hotel on a limited budget this is excellent

Thank you for being our guest.I am sorry that you did not recognize when you booked that we do not have an elevator and do not offer breakfast and coffee machines. If you had told us before we could have provided a room on first floor instead of second floor. As an explanation for all guests reading your comment - you paid 59 per night for a clean, warm single room with private bath in walking distance to the old town.Kind regards

Accomodations were roomy and comfortable. There is no one at the desk at night. Our room was a 3 floor walk up, but it didn't bother us. The location was great, close to train/metro and old town.

Hit-or-miss on room condition (2 stays)
We would give our first one-night stay (room #14) a 4 star for above-average accomodations at the price -- loved it. So we returned a few nights later for a one-night (room 15, next door). Totally different experience -- barely a 2-star for condition, size, comfort etc (felt like a cheap hotel room in an old hotel). So our average rating is 3-star, but it's hit-or-miss, you could get 2 or 4. Location is great though, very accessible to Salzburg attractions by walking, Mirabel Palace/Gardens very close. Near ethnic restaurants with great food selections.

The first you booked was a Superior Double Room, the second one a Standard Double Room (the Superior would have been available also for the second date). BEDBUGS! When we arrived the room was just in okay cleanliness standards: the toilet seat was loose, shower head was coming off the wall and there were dust bunnies on the ground. We woke up after the first morning with little black spots on the sheets and my wife said that she saw a bug. The second morning we woke up and there were blood spots on the bedding, a few dead bedbugs, a bedbug running across the bead, and when my wife turned around there was one attached to her back. I looked between the bed and wall and it looked like they had poured a powdered insecticide along the edge of the bed. I told the receptionist at checkout and she was just like “oh no, have a good day”. They knew about the problem and shrugged it off. Not happy at all and now we have to treat everything before going home.

One of the worst stays ive had at any property in recent years, the room wasmlike a sauna and no fan or ac was offered, alsonn by paper thin walls ao you hear whole builsing and outside noise

Great for an overnight stay
Perfect for an overnight and affordable stay in Salzburg, but I wouldn't recommend as a long term location. My room was as I expect - small and compact, but had everything I needed in it, with the exception of tea/coffee making facilities. If passing through Salzburg (as I was0, then this is ideal.

We had reserved parking upon booking but weren’t given the information on where to access the parking. Because we arranged late check in we weren’t able to park on location and had to park elsewhere in the city. We were told it would be the same price as at the hotel but it ended up costing us double.

The front desk staffs were quite friendly and helpful. The room I stayed is right next to the train, it’s impossible to sleep well. The hotel should be aware of this and provide the guests ear plugs. I let the front guy know that the light at my room entrance is not working, he promised that it would be fixed, however after being there 3 nights, no one put any effort to fix it. I had to struggle to find a way to open the door because it was completely dark. Also two days in the roll that the house keeping didn’t provide any toilet papers. There’s no staff after 6pm and I was always back after 8:30pm and always on the road by 6pm. For the price they are charging, no fan, no toilet papers, no lights and with constant train noises; this is not acceptable at all. Though I like the brightness of the room, it does feel comfy, and the location is convenient; what an unfortunate to be next to the train.

It was not a comfortable stay. The hotel looked like a dungeon, a really old spooky apartment building. No elevators, steep stairs to climb up. No air conditioning and no fans, so had to leave window open for some air to come in, hence bugs and loud street noise to deal with. Couldn’t sleep at night. Managed to get a fan next day. There are definitely other better hotels in the area for the same price or less. Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful hotel for us. My power converter did not work, so the nice gentleman at the desk gave me two to use for the rest of our trip! The hotel is just a short walk from the Old Town. Would recommend.
