The good Parking available..20 min walk to town centre Large rooms friendly reception staff Cheap for location . The bad Our non smoking room towels etc smelled strongly of cigarettes our daughters room didn’t .Clearly fully booked as no other room offered changed towels at least . Rather dated Side door wedged open to car park until late evening seemed like a security issue as the reception couldn’t see who was coming and going .

The Das Grüne Hotel is on a very busy road with traffic noise extending into the late and early hours. We originally booked a street side hotel room. With no eco-unfriendly room A/C and windows needing to be opened on warm summer nights, we much regretted it. Thankfully, our hosts moved us into a quiet guest house at the rear after two nights. + Breakfasts are superb at this hotel. + Convenient bus stops for the City centre and airport - Das Grüne Hotel does not have full spa facilities, just a small sauna which was out of order throughout our stay.

The most expensive hotel during my trip we stayed 2 nights. Beautiful hotel. We had 5 bed family room. Very spacious and clean. Bus station is right outside the hotel. City center is only 10 minutes away. Highly recommend.

It’s a charming boutique hotel. The rooms, toilets, linen and common areas are very elegant and squeaky clean. The reception staff are warm, very helpful. The bus stop is just outside the hotel which makes it very convenient.

This hotel is in a residential area outside of the city. It is walkable, but using the near by buses is probably more convenient. The room is basic, but had everything we needed. There's also free parking. My only complaint is that its on a fairly busy road and the building is not sound proof. I had to sleep with ear plugs even with the windows closed.

The beds were very comfortable, and the unit was clean. We had a family suite and the only awkward part was that the bathroom/shower door was a frosted glass barn door right next to two of the beds, so it did not feel very private. (That said, you could not see anything through the door - just shadows. It is just that it wasn't lockable and felt exposed.)

A cheap alternative near Salzburg
Our stay at Das Grüne Hotel zur Post 100% Bio was quite pleasant. The rooms are highly spacious and comfortable enough, albeit a bit outdated. The staff at check-in were nice however there was confusion with final payment, which required multiple emails back and forth... In terms of location, it’s a little ways out of the city centre, but a bus stop is practically on the door step (buses were pretty reliable), so no hassle, however we tended to walk (approx. 25mins). We didn’t include breakfast for our stay (approx. €18/person), because we were on a budget, but there isn’t too many options around early in the morning so it may be worth forking out the extra money. Overall, it was solid accommodation and would be a useful option for anyone wanting to visit Salzburg on a budget!

Dear Alexandra. Im not surprised about your voting. For explanation: You've booked an non refundable rate. You want to cancell, but you couldn't. You arrived at our hotel even though you did not want that. Even at this moment we could not make your stay beautiful. In the time of your stay we had a little Power failure. We were able to fix this immediately. Once again you told us, you dont want to stay, you want money from us. But Why? In every Apartment, House, Flat..... the Power can faile. And again we wanted to make your stay better and gave you a free upgrade. We have invited you to our BIO breakfast to make your stay beautiful. But you just wanted to get your money back from the start. It is very easy to make hotels bad on this way, but after our answer everyone has the opportunity to make their own picture. Lovely staff and good position for the city. Breakfast expensive at €18, there was a good cafe ‘FIT’ just along the road, we recommend it. There were other cafes and a pastry shop near by. We had a lovely time.

I liked their commitment to being eco-friendly and the amazing staff. I less liked how expensive the breakfast was, no fridge in the room, noisy outside because of a garage just next to our room. Also it is a bit far from city center.

Clean and comfortable
Comfy beds in a clean and spacious 2-bedroom unit. It’s not terribly close to old town, but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel and old town is just 5 stops away. We took a taxi one night because it rained and it was only €10 from the fortress. The staff were very friendly as well. Would definitely stay again.

Pleasant family hotel.
We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. He helped us plan the next couple of days activities, very useful. The suite was nice, plenty of space for 4 of us between the two bedrooms. Our room was away from the main road so very peaceful. Breakfast was good. The whole place was welcoming and well looked after, although one or two of the furnishings had seen their best days. r

This is one of the worst hotels I ever visited. The rooms were dirty (we had 2 rooms), the towels were grey so you couldn't see if they were dirty or not, but they were smelly as if someone already used them. In the morning we deliberately placed the towels on the bathroom floor so that room service would replace them. You think they did? We were shocked to find that the room service didn't do so, but instead just placed them back on the hanger. The rooms were small and had no ACs. The lobby was very small and there was no place to sit and chill. I am never going to this hotel again and I don't recommend anyone to stay there either.
