We enjoyed being able to walk from the train station to the hotel in a matter of minutes. That was especially useful when we had a very early checkout and return trip to the airport via train! Most of the staff were friendly, but some seemed a bit snooty to us. The room was very nicely furnished. Not having air conditioning was a surprise on such hot days!

Historic building, super clean, convenient location and welcoming staff. Prompt responses to all my questions, including calling up Paleis Het Loo to see if it’s open, and the manufacturer and brand of the wardrobe hinges that I was interested in because we need to replace our kitchen cabinet hinges. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel, but a less than great check-in
Overall, our stay was fine. The hotel is very nice and the staff are friendly. On the negative side, after a two hour drive, we arrived about 20 minutes before the official “check-in” time and were told we could have a seat and wait until 15:00. Apparently, they had done the same to about five other couples who began to queue ahead of us as the check-in time drew near. When the time arrived, the four couples ahead of us took about 20 minutes to check on. The actual process was needlessly cumbersome, especially considering we had prepaid our reservation. The hotel said check-in took extra time because of the Time to explain COVID rules to the guests but that was just a quick form that took very little time. Also, the street in front of the hotel was closed for roadwork. We parked in a paid public lot around the corner. The receptionist asked if we wanted to park our car in the hotel parking and showed us how to enter. She told us it would be more cost effective than the city lot. I quickly did the math and found she was incorrect. There is no charge for city parking in Zwolle on Sundays so we would have overpaid to use the hotel parking. Neither of the points above were egregious but both were a bad introduction to what was a really nice hotel.

I am sorry to hear that your experience with check in was not entirely as desired. My colleagues at the reception desk are working hard to check in all our guests as fast as possible, however we try not to rush check in. Due to all the regulations regarding COVID-19 we need to ask more questions to the guests at check in than usual. This includes arranging breakfast and dinner and explaining the current regulations. All public parking lots in the citycentre have paid parking, also on Sundays. Maybe you parked more outside of the citycentre and my colleagues therefore could not give you the proper information. Again, I am glad to hear that your enjoyed your stay despite your experience at check in, and hopefully we will welcome you again in the future! Wonderful place to stay
A beautiful building only 3 minutes walk from the train station. Very friendly staff and helpful, I forgot my UK to EU plug adaptor and they found one I could borrow for my stay. The breakfast was excellent, the waiter was very welcoming and quick to get coffee and clear away plates. Selection of fresh fruit, cakes, pancakes, breads, meats and cheeses. The hot food was a selection of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausage and tomatoes, delicious! The hotel itself was beautiful, wide corridors and an excellent dark wooden bar which I had a drink with some friends in one evening, a large selection of drinks. The room was a little smaller than I had hoped but it was very nice, clean and the bathroom excellent. My only criticism would be the fine details, in a few places such as around door handles, the paint was chipped and marked but other than that, can't fault it. Would definitely stay there again!

Great Location, good sized rooms
Perfect if traveling without a car as only a block from train station and still close to main sights in town. Looks like they also had a parking lot if needed. Our room was very spacious and bed was super comfortable. Only complaint is there were some extra fees I was not expecting (service charge for more than one person, city tax). not sure if I just didn't read small print from Expedia or were added by hotel.

Pleasant stay in Zwolle
This was a beautiful little hotel in a quiet street but just around the corner from the station. The staff were wonderful and friendly and gave me a welcome warm chocolate pastry as a nice touch. The room had everything I needed and I had a very comfortable nights sleep in general. The only issue I had was that the room being a small single was directly facing the top of the stairs on the second floor. There was 4 occasions after going to sleep where groups of people came up the stairs and then stood talking loudly on the landing right outside my door. Also the top of the bed is right up against that wall by the door, so basically they were talking about 3 feet from my head. Enough to wake me up a few times. Luckily it didn't long. Also when waking up there was a clicking noise coming from the ice/freezer part of the bar fridge. It would be useful if there was vertical bar to attach the shower head to so one could adjust it to your height. There were two settings, one for the hand-held shower and one for the ceiling shower, which being so high up that it feels like the hot water gets cold by the time it reaches you. Somehow the shower hot water never seemed to get as hot as the basin. The meals looked very good but I didn't have a chance to eat. There was a large enough sized TV that was wall mounted with a bracket that could be moved out and angled as you wish. The only item missing was a side table, so if you enjoying a drink in bed you have to put it on the floor.

I tested the patience of the staff on reception on arrival by messing up my booking, which they fixed for me without complaint. I was assisted with the provision of a phone charging cable by the night porter at 5.30am on Sunday morning. All the reception, waiting and housekeeping staff were excellent. There is nothing I could fault about this hotel. Bar lunch for 10 people was restaurant quality, service exceptional, and surroundings impressive. Two minutes from the train station and five minutes from the lovely town centre.

Lovely hotel with excellent service. Would highly recommend. One tiny irritant was that the management left a nice laminated note to say the air conditioning remote was missing but the unit could be manually controlled. we were unable to change the temperature setting and it was a very warm night. It's a pitty they didn't replace the remote instead of producing a laminated card. Great location beside the station and short walk to town. Good breakfast. High speed internet. Coffee machine in room. Stayed in comfort room which was very spacious.
