very nice little hotel with a pool. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. small kitchenette (fridge and kettle). The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town it is in, so it is a bit of a walk to the nearest shops etc. If travelling by bus to the island also a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop. The staff at the hotel were helpful but unsure if they knew much about the locality as they seemed to provide the wrong information when asked if there was somewhere nearby to eat (we had arrived later due to travelling all day and was told everywhere was closed and ended up ordering a takeaway, while waiting for the takeaway which was going to take a while, we discovered another hotel down the way that had a restaurant) and if there was somewhere nearby that was showing the rugby match, they said it was the next town over, but there was somewhere in the town showing it after doing some of our own research. But overall very nice hotel.

More budget than boutique
Unfortunately our room was not great with a broken toilet door and service was very poor. Also the pool was a big thing for me and they said heated , however not heated and so cold we couldn’t even get in . I feel this is a very budget hotel rather than a boutique. The place is lovely and quiet and the lady in reception who was on night duty was amazing .

Stopover stay
We used this as a stop over for a couple of nights inbetween St. Malo and the Dordogne. Lovely place, friendly with good facilities. The apartments were effective and worked for the 5 of us. The pool is fab. Good levels of cleanliness throughout and the hotel staff were really helpful and friendly.

Great price for pool, far from town centre
Great price for a hotel with a pool and modern decor in reception and bedroom but the bathroom was very dated and the breakfast was not very well organised. Like the other island hotels we visited, no tea/coffee making in room. This hotel is almost the furthest street away from the village town square, restaurant and supermarket that it’s possible to be! So it’s lovely and peaceful and good for those who like walking. I’d recommend close-by La Noue as an alternative location where you can stay closer the the village square.

Hello and thank you. The Hotel de Ré is located between the church and Thalassotherapy, 500m from the church and 500m from the sea. The Village of Sainte Marie de Ré is quiet, classified Green Station, and the nature is very preserved. The hotel is new (2012) and the bathrooms are modern and new. There is no other 2 * hotel on the island of D, so difficult to compare, but I am flattered that you compare us with 3 * hotels, thank you. cordially

Reasonable stay
The hotel facilities although basic are adequate and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good value. The pool area was spotlessly clean. Altogether a very good place to stay at a reasonable price.

Good value and pleasant rooms.
Rooms are set nicely around the central court yard and pool (which was warm - great in September when it was a bit cooler). It was quiet and comfortable though quite basic. Most of the activities and places to see are in different towns around the island but there is a beach very close by. Bike hire was reasonable and fun.

Great little hideaway.
A nice greeting from the reception staff as you arrived. Check in smooth and simple. Very nice clean and compact room with an excellent bathroom.Situated in a very quiet area not far from the nearest beach and a pleasant walk to the village through narrow winding streets. The pool is good,clean with clear water get in before the kids arrive from a day out. breakfast is good value and more than adequate order on arriving. All the staff are very friendly and amicable and ensure you have a comfortable stay. On the whole we had a great stay.

Family holiday for a few days. The hotel was clean and the staff were very informative about the area. We asked for restaurant recommendations and were given some fantastic suggestions. Any question asked was answered with a friendly response.

Great value for money hotel
Friendly staff, clean hotel with a beautifully maintained pool and decking area. Also, fully secure (and free) parking plus free WiFi - absolute bargain. The rooms were spotlessly clean on arrival and were kept that way throughout our 4 night stay. The buffet breakfast was a great start to to the day, with wonderful fresh fruit salad, amazing bread and cheese, cereals, yoghurts and pastries to share. The children loved the pool (open 10-8) and despite the hotel being full it was never crowded. The centre of Sainte Marie itself is a short walk, and the beach is 5 minutes away. We hired bikes and cycled to La Flotte (20 minutes) and St Martin (30 minutes) for the day. Hope to stay here again.

A very comfortable friendly hotel. It was perfect for our 3 night stay on our tour. The location was good with a short drive or easy bike ride to the nearby harbour towns...Bike hire available from the hotel.

The rooms were great but we were disappointed the maid didn't clean the bathrooms nod only seemed to make the beds. Facilities were good, it was still quite a new hotel, so the pool area and childrens playground were in very good condition. Didn't like walking through the small pool of water before the pool or the ban on shoes poolside. It was a bit far out and a car was needed to get to St Marie for breakfast or baguettes in the morning. Not much to do in st Marie so would recommend going elsewhere in the evening.

Family -oriented no-frills hotel on Ile de Ré
If you're looking for a reasonable costing economy hotel on one of the loveliest island locations in France, this could well meet your needs. Set around a nice outdoor pool the 30 rooms consist of a living room (with cooking facilities available for for an extra fee per day) a bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast is also available which we opted for and was more than ample to begin the day. Set on the southeast of the island, although not too far away from La Flotte (5km with bike hire and route available) we found a car essential to get out and about and see all the island. Staff were friendly and helpful; the no- frills hotel was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is well located for a drive up to the western end of the island and is certainly worthwhile. Along with some great beaches there are impressive landmarks and interesting markets. Generally the food was good but we were not convinced the the island was worth invading in its distant past for its wine!

It's one thing to have a small room - and on Ile de Re you expect it - but this was small without any ventilation and no ac. Suffocating in the heat. One night was nearly bearable.

Great place for an overnight stay
Very modern bungalow/chalet style rooms surrounding an outdoor pool. Very clean indeed - good bathroom suite (shower not bath). Large comfortable bed, sofa and table and chair. Pool is a fair size and well maintained. Breakfast OK. Staff were most friendly and helpful. Represents fair value for money.

Excellent independent apartments around a pool
We are a family of 3, stayed at this hotel on Ile de Re for 4 days in Sep 2013. Found our 3-bed apartment (with kitchenette) to be clean, tidy and well-maintained; staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is organised as a collection of apartments around a lovely blue pool in the middle. Inexpensive but sturdy bicycles with child seats were available to rent at the hotel. Location was good: beaches close by, but closest restaurants and shops 15/20 minute walk into St. Marie De Re town centre. The hotel served breakfast (not included in price) but no lunch/dinner.

After an exceedingly long time being ignored at check in, with two staff present who kept telling us to wait and a debate regarding our 12 year old being classed as an adult were very pleased with the hotel. There was plenty of space for the four of us in the apartment, it was clean and well set out. The swimming pool area was nice and a good amount of sun beds. An added bonus is the secure and plentiful parking. If you can manage surly reception staff, a good hotel to try but be prepared to travel at least 10 minutes by car if you want to eat out. Best place, St Martin.

We stayed for a night in April and we're initially quite impressed with the place. Modern, clean rooms with good facilities and a lovely pool with loungers for the sun-lovers. Also had secure off-road parking which was nice. Its also worth noting that the hotel is in a small village with only a single, small restaurant open at this time of year. The problems came when we returned from our dinner to find the walls had so little sound proofing that we could hear our neighbour snoring in his sleep! Breakfast was also a disappointing cake/bread/yoghurt/canned fruit affair. On the whole the place had great potential but was let down by a few important details.

We loved our stay at the hotel. We opted for self-catering as we had special needs within our group. The small kitchen area was quite adequate for our requirements. Excellent shower, extremely comfortable beds, totally secure parking and lovely heated pool. The hotel isn't very near shops, for self-catering, but with some sort of own transport a large supermarket could be found about 8-10 minutes away. We would definitely like to go back.

Good value hotel.
Nice hotel but probably suits families better. However, Sainte Marie although charming is very quiet and there is a distinct lack of restaurants in the town. A car is required to drive elsewhere on the island to dine. Only one glass was provided in a double room and a request for a second glass was met with surprise - we were told only one glass is normally supplied in the rooms. It would also be good if the hotel provided swimming towels.

Beautifull hotel, all rooms are at ground level , with some privicy if you decide to sit outside. Also a beatifull swimming pool. located away from the busy tourist center of the island, but not to far. Recommand to rent bikes to tour the island. Good service, but don't forget to bring face clothes with you, hotels in France do not supply it.

Our First Night on Ile de Re
We were very happy with our overnight stay as our room and Hotel facilities were quite adequate. However, we did find that the Hotel was quite remote and in St Marie de Re we could only find one place to eat. Later we found out that La Noue also had an eating place but it was more distant on foot. Maybe it would be helpful to have more local information on display to help new visitors

Nous sommes très attachés au confort de nos chambres, que nous avons pris soin de bien équiper pour que vous ne manquiez de rien, et nous sommes navrés que l'oreiller n'ait pas totalement correspondu à vos attentes. Il est vrai que la fermeté de l'oreiller est une notion relative aux préférences personnelles de chacun, mais je prends en compte votre remarque constructive. Nous avons plusieurs types d'oreillers, la prochaine n'hésitez pas à nous solliciter, nous sommes toujours disponible pour vous être agréable et faire en sorte que vous passiez une douce nuit à l'Hôtel de Ré. Parfait pour passer quelques jours
La chambre correspondait bien aux photos et tout était conforme a ce que l'on attendait. Le lit est confortable et l'endroit etait propre. Seul point un peu negatif selon moi vient de l'odeur de la canalisation qui remontait le premier jour mais ca s'est reglé en fermant la bonde de la salle de bain

L'hébergement est sympa , le cadre est joli avec la piscine et calme. Dommage il manque un ventilateur plafonnier plus efficace et moins bruyant que le petit ventilo mis à disposition
