This a little gem! A family run business they take great pride in their rooms. This is a great find for short stay as rooms are very small - but very thoughtfully outfitted with everything you will need. There is great A/C, double windows to keep street noise out, a chair, a small desk, a small refrigerator and comfortable beds with spotless linens. Plus for devices are right next to either side of the bed. The shower is not American-size but very good size from Italy. The water pressure is excellent. Amenities include shampoo, soap, hair dryer, shoe shine sponges. There is a magnifying mirror and nice fluffy towels. The location is great for strolling; it is right off Via Veneto! We recommend this hotel whole-heartedly!!

No matter what other reviews say: this is a two-star, cheap hotel. Yes, the location is good, but that's where the puck stops. All the responses from the owner are along this line: our family lives on the property and we need to protect ourselves. While I absolutely agree with that, there are no excuses for: - our room was never updated, dirty wallpaper peeling off, didn't feel clean, and it was a smell of dust everywhere - even in the blankets. - our room was located next to the reception, and it was really noisy; - no iron and ironing board in the room. no kettle to boil some water for tea; - only plastic cups in the rooms! - the staff going around the 'hotel' wearing shorts or bathrobes? - the breakfast is pathetic and overpriced! Juice is served in a plastic cup, a few pieces of cheap fruit (mostly apple and orange), some warmed up (or not) pastry, and if you are lucky, eggs. And..in the empty dining room they choose a table where you will sit! - the whole atmosphere at the hotel was sad, dark, and controlling. You can (read: they can) hear every word that is said in the room, or anything else happening inside of the room. Even if you put a 'do not disturb' sign, they will get in the room while you are out. - Sorry, but I did not find that family so amazingly friendly. - The bottom line is: no, I would not recommend this hotel to my family and friends. If you travel to Rome, you better prepare more money so you will have enjoyable stay in a decent hotel.

The hotel is located near the Villa Borghese which makes it easy to walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Galleria Borghesse. The hotel is very clean and the staff, who are mostly family, are very helpful and pleasant. Being a 2 star hotel means there's not a lot of amenities but if you just need a nice place to sleep (after all your in Rome, why would you hang out in a hotel room), it's hard to beat this place

Mary Theresa and her family are excellent hosts — friendly and very attentive to any need that arises. The room and hotel overall were very clean and well maintained. The location is terrific — very close to the Borghese Gallery and not far from the Spanish Steps. There was no breakfast available during our stay but a coffee bar located a few short steps away provided our morning coffee and croissants. I highly recommend Hotel Golden.

We loved this hotel and the hospitality from the lovely owners and staff. We had the conjoined family room which was beautiful and fairly quiet. The room got serviced every day and they even put the air con on for us for when we got home. The beds were incredibly comfy and both the bedrooms were large. The hotel and rooms were really clean and everyone was so helpful. If we ever come back to visit Rome, we would absolutely stay here again.

Giuseppe and his family were so welcoming! This was our first trip to Rome, and he made us feel super comfortable. We had a view facing the entrance to Villa Borghese, which includes an ancient wall... I would definitely stay here again!
