Clean, convenient simple apartment
This apartment met our needs very nicely. It was within a 5 minute walk to the train and restaurants, offered clean facilities, and a simple room to lay our heads at night and shower. The owner met us upon our arrival, carried our luggage, and even suggested a few restaurants. He made sure we were comfortable.
A few things to consider. This is a very simple apartment. There are no kitchen facilities, not even a coffee pot or a toaster. Also, there is a very steep set of stairs that lead to the apartment so those with physical challenges will have an issue. Being so close to restaurants is a big plus but in the mornings, trash collection of bottles takes place at 8 am every day and is quite loud, as are the drunk patrons on a weekend night. The apartment has some minor maintenance issues but nothing serious.
Overall, a good stay. While this has nothing to do with the apartment, tourists should very carefully consider the timing of their stay. Tourists can number in the thousands (even in late Sept when we stayed), can clog the trains often making it impossible to board the first train that comes by, and detract from the beauty of the area. The local government really should control all of the cruise ships, tours, and other tourists who are here simultaneously.
