The hotel was a top notch. The fact it inspired Felini to make Amarcord was more than a welcome bonus. Plenty of history there. GT /Grande Turismo/ at its best.

Interesting and historical building. Great location by the sea. Staff and management very mediocre. Old fashioned with little attention to detail. Not the usual 5 star service you expect. They rely too much on the past. I would not stay again.
We are never disappointed staying at the hotel. Been coming for many years. We were all treated very well ( including our dog). The food is very high quality and ambience is very relaxing. Looking forward to returning.
The Grand Hotel is just that - grand in nature. It has a nice location in the heart of Rimini as well as a very welcoming staff, particularly the valet and front desk help. A welcome gift accompanied by a nice letter from the owner was waiting upon entry to our room. The pool was beautifully maintained and the beach is right across the street. Our room was spacious with a nice view of the ocean and promenade below from the balcony. The breakfast was quite impressive and delicious as well.
We were a little hesitant to book given the prior reviews but the place far exceeded our expectations.
What a wonderful old Grand Hotel. Recently refurbished inside and out . Service on arrival at the restaurant by the bar((( you cannot complain about the service as there wasn’t any!!!! It could be truly outstanding with better service . But I’d go back for sure just for the building and the location.
This is a very nice property well worth a visit. We were there in mid June, great weather and no crowds. Did not use the pool area that much but spend days at the private beach. Super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is something special! Excellent dining!

Hotel is located right by the beach and a prime location next to bars and restaurants.
Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. Only downside is that the hotel can do with a refurbishment. The rooms and some of the decor look tiered and needs a refresh.
Excellent hotel …
Excellent service and ambience ..
Just wanted to comment on the stair rail as very low can be dangerous as on 5 florist. Kindly look at this please.
Other wise this hotels 100% recommended !! Wow !!
We had a somewhat slow start. We did not know that there were 2 different buildings, that you needed to book and pay extra for parking and beach. We were not inform where our room was, or what we needed to do for the beach, swimming pool, etc.
But the second day we changed rooms to the main building, service became better and the food is amazing

EAUTIFUL HOTEL - HORRIBLE ROOM
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL AND ENTRANCE. PERFECT SERVICE. BREAKFAST OK. HORRIBLE AND OLD ROOMS
We had a beautiful room with a balcony and sea view. Room and bathroom were very well lit (unlike many hotels) and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was beautiful and clean. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Not a real 5 star , not staffed up
The hotel is stunning from the outside . The interior is very grand but dated . Not sure how it qualifies as a 5 star , no bellmen , luggage porters , breakfast buffet was below average but staff were friendly. It’s an ok 4 star at present
The hotel certainly lives up to the name Grand Hotel, it’s gardens are extensive, the decoration of the hotel is exquisite and one can imagine Fellini strolling the halls.
Beautiful hotel and delicious breakfast. I also enjoyed the pianist on site several night.
However, the beach prices are an insult. €120 for a sunbed! I walked to the beach to have a look and I chose the company 15 metres away for €15!! Don’t be tricked into the Grand Hotel prices!
Spent time previously at this world class classic hotel a few decades ago , it left a wonderful impression back then as it did on my recent stay . Staff competent and professional. The hotel room appeared to have been recently upgraded ...so comfortable . The surrounding gardens and outside dining and alfresco areas are a delight . The beach facilities impeccably presented. The Grand Hotel, Rimini has my recommendation .
Reception was cold. The person who brought us to our room left us at the door. She didn’t even come into the room to show us. Also. No use of the beach chairs. They wanted 70 euros for two hours so we decided to walk the beach even though there had to be over a hundred in occupied chairs.
The hotels external façade and internal community areas are lovely. The rooms are dreadful. They say it is to try and keep in character but it is just neglect. The rooms are extremely noisy.
The staff at the front desk are obnoxious and rude, the restaurant staff at breakfast are however lovely and very professional and courteous. I think the front desk staff could learn something from them.
I will not stay at this hotel again.

The walls between rooms are paperthin. One hears lierally everything going on next door, all night long!
The elecrtomechanical systems are old and produce so many noises throughout the day, it is almost eerie. The staff is very nice and helpful but the condition of the property is terrible.
Breakfast was great though :-)

I stayed at this property for two nights and while it wasn't a bad stay I was a little disappointed by the overall quality of the hotel. We ended up staying in the "residenza" or annex hotel and I think that it is best summed up by the logo that was printed on the trash can. It had the name of a different hotel (probably the building was a different hotel before it was bought by the Grand Hotel Rimini) and had four stars underneath the name. Honestly, it felt like a four-star experience with five-star prices.
The staff seemed a little overwhelmed the entire time and they were a little less friendly than I'd expect for a property like this. Once again, when you book a five-star hotel in Italy it comes with certain expectations on this front.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. However for a five star luxury I would expect more comforts! Breakfast ok but not great! However excellent service from all staff!
This historic hotel has been impressively restored while retaining heritage features. Set in a large garden right on the beach. Excellent breakfast.
On the negative side my room was cramped and uncomfortable but it had a sea view. My room service meal arrived with the main course almost cold, but the soup was hot. The hotel is remote from the old part of the city, about 35 minutes walking.
The hotel would be perfect for a summer beach resort holiday. But not for an out of season stay if beaches and resorts are not your thing.

Expected more from this hotel
Hard to find entrance to hotel when driving. Breakfast was fantastic. Beware that you have to pay for beach access, and their steam and sauna rooms and if these are not a included in your room price. If you read their hotel booklet about their amenities that is in your room, it does not mention a fee for these either. The dinner buffet with orchestra on patio looked amazing. Hotel pool is nothing great.
