Fabulous, so clean,cosy and comfortable. It was so quiet. Lovely enclosed garden for our dog. Great area, so much to see and do, even in winter. Host was so friendly and informative.

Perfect Location, Property and Host
This is the 2nd time we have stayed and Karl and his Mum are lovely hosts. The cottage is well kitted out with everything you need (Including a hair dryer!). We arrived and it was immaculate. A lovely large kitchen with microwave, oven, washing machine, fridge and freezer The living room is spacious and the log burner was ideal when coming in after a long day out. Two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with 2 single beds. - Very comfortable Views from the bedroom overlook a lovely secluded garden which is available for use during your stay. Overall everything was just perfect. Will definitely be booking again.

Great dog friendly cottage
The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and is in a good location for walking in the the Elan Valley and the Cambrain mountains. The enclosed garden was great for our two dogs.

Lovely little bolt hole
Found the property a little dark but I struggle with my eyesight. The settees could do with replacing as us oldies found it too soft and hard to get up 😫. Bed was lovely and comfy. Perfect for dogs as totally enclosed and secure . Karl was the perfect host

Perfect
We had a lovely stay in the cottage for a week. The garden was amazing with all the beautiful flowers to look at and the butterflies and birds that flew over. Very well equipped house and the host was very friendly and helpful. The area is just beautiful with a 20 minute walk to town and various walks to do from the cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely location, charming cottage but needs updating
The host Karl is very friendly and helpful. Great location. This cottage has charm but needs updating. The beds and sofas were uncomfortable and worn. The lighting was inadequate leaving the property feeling dingy. Crockery needs replacing. Overall needs a little TLC

Out in the sticks
Going into property looked like STEP to SON yard a 1970 serious. The cottage itself was dark in the living room but cosy at night. The owner was friendly and if needed anything just had to ask. The overall experience was very peaceful

A little piece of paradise
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it had everything we could want, including throws for the cooler evenings. Lovely garden to sit in and enjoy the sounds of the birds. It was a very quiet and relaxing setting. Karl was a very good host and gave us some good advice on where to visit. We like it so much we have already booked for next year!

Perfect hideaway.
A haven of tranquility, cottage is surrounded by woods and shrubs.Peace is only disturbed by birdsong and the whistle sound of Red Kites overhead. Beautiful countryside! Ideal for walkers and cyclists. Owner's 2 collie type dogs are well behaved, quiet and just want to play despite of arthritis in one of them. Adorable!

Lovely cottage has everything you could need . About half hour walk to town and 5 minutes drive to Elan Valley Reservoirs. As Arnie said " I'll be back" .

I enjoyed my stay, plenty of walking near by, Red Kites and Photo opportunities. The property was spacious with a typical farmhouse feel. The owners were very accommodating and I would love to go back and stay again.

Holiday in mid Wales

Cosy Cottage in great location
I stayed with 2 friends and we had a wonderful stay. The cottage was warm, kitchen was a great social area, wood burner was a lovely bonus. Bed was comfy and slept really well. The town was just over a mile away so perfect for bits and bobs Karl was amazing, very attentive and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. A great host. Would recommend

Superb week away
Had an absolutely fantastic week in Karl’s cottage. Could not have asked for a better host. Cottage was spotless and Karl was on hand to give recommendations of local places to visit. Cottage situated within amazing countryside and fantastic places to visit close by. We will be visiting again.

Amazing place, cosy, clean and perfect location for sightseeing. Fire was lush and was great we could take our three dogs. Karl was also very welcoming and helpful. We would defo stay again. Thanks again to Karl!

Lovely peaceful, cosy retreat.
We have just arrived home from our week in this lovely cottage. Karl and his Mum were lovely and very helpful and it was lovely to meet their 2 gorgeous dogs. The cottage is very spacious and clean with a lovely secure garden and large yard for for our dogs to run around. The only reason we have not given 5 stars is because the sofas in the lounge badly need replacing as they are very uncomfortable to the point where I couldnt sit on them as they gave me a bad back. Also, a washing line would be most helpful as I couldn't understand why there was a washing machine but no line to hang the washing on. That said, we were sad to leave and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing location.

Quietly located, property clean and friendly host
Ideally located for walks into Rhayader without having to use the car. Plenty to Dom in the area and some great places to eat and drink in the town. Host was friendly and property was clean and tidy with everything needed to enjoy the stay like a home from home.

Another great week in beautiful location
Family break at Gwardolau (our 2nd time) to enjoy the wonderful surroundings, walking/biking/relaxing etc. Karl and his mum are so welcoming it feels like 'home from home'. The views are beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. We would recommend the red kite feeding, and also a trip to the Hafod Estate (off the mountain road to Devil's Bridge) where there are several walking routes to choose from of varying terrain & distances which was simply stunning. This is certainly one of our favourite places.

Tidy and very comfortable with everything needed for a lovely stay
Myself an partner stayed with 2 kids and a dog. Lovely garden and outside area all safe and contained for the dog to run around. Karl is a really nice guy and the house was very homely with the large dining table in kitchen. Snowy mountains looked awesome and will certainly return in the summer months

A hidden little treasure for the ideal get-a-way
Really lovely, cosy and private cottage, lovely location where the scenic views are a delight! Lots of birds and wildlife to enjoy and still close enough to the village and Elan Valley. Super for walking dogs and the nearby woodland walks are a pleasure- host Karl was really friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend and hope to have a return visit soon. Thank you once again!

A real find with the perfect location!
We stayed here on the weekend for two nights and couldn’t fault it. The cottage is attached to the Main house but you feel like it’s your own little haven. Karl the host was fantastic, giving us information on places to walk with our little terrier. We walked into town and back which really wasn’t that far at all. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and extremely well equipped. The open fire was a highlight and we felt totally at home. Already planning a week away here next year to explore more of the area! Thanks Karl!

Utterly beautiful place!
