We enjoyed our stay. The facilities are clean and the kitchen area with the coffee machine was excellent. The self check in was easy an convenient.

I had a horrible experience with this place. We arrived late to the guesthouse due to some trouble on our way and couldn’t get in as there was no key left. There was no pin left to get the key. When we tried to contact on the given phone number, there was no response. We were left outside on the street in the extreme cold weather with nowhere to go. With great difficulty got another hotel for the overnight stay. We contacted the reception of the guesthouse the next day and she was very rude and blunt with no consideration to our ordeal.

They do not have a front desk and were supposed to send the checkin details via email, which did not happen and when we tried calling the phone number provided no one picked up. Stay away from this property, its not for families and their customer service is non existent to say the least

The property owners did not respond to calls for the code to get into the rooms.,either for me or two others. The entrance smelled like the bathrooms that opened into it. Do not recommend.

I never stayed in the room as I never had the actual code to enter the room. I slept in my car. I paid them about $150 USD. They have not responded to any of my calls or other contacts. I want a full refund and if you could remove them from your site. This is theft.

Good room, easy to use pin code system. Only issue was there was no email as expected for the room access code, so had to call for information.

The check in was not easy, no email with door code was received, and on site staff didn’t know how to help. Very frustrating. I found someone who spoke Icelandic to help me sort through my problem, and finally succeeded in getting a code. Kitchen was hectic and had broken can openers and few pot varieties.

Although the room is smaill, quite typical in Iceland, it was very clean. It comes with a wash basin. The shared bathroom is closed to the room. You are allowed to cook in the kitchen. The property itself is ideally situated in a pleasant surrounding - by the river. Parking was not a problem at all.

People... who cares
We have stayed in multiple self check in places, so we were familiar with the concept. This place however requires someone to at a bare minimum have a look to the common areas and do some sensible mantainance. The men bathroom, disgrace, flooded thanks to the shower room leaking water everywhere, one of the shower rooms had a holw in the wall were you could easily hide inside, who knows what you can find inside there. The kitchen had no light as 5 out of 8 lights were broken. We saw people arriving with no codes to self check in and waiting in the common area, hoping to get someone to answer their phone calls. The room itself was simple but enough to sleep one night, unless you find hairs all over the bed and pillow in which case, you will spend your time calling for service and get no one to answer. The owners of this place don't care about their guests, here you will pay without knowing what you will get, and you wont be able to claim anything during your stay.

Most Icelandic guesthouses are converted from old houses and have small rooms up narrow staircases. This building is a purpose-built guesthouse with wide, hotel-style accesses which makes it a lot more accessible for people with accessibility issues. However, it loses some of the guesthouse charm as a result :) so it depends on what you're looking for!

It is affordable and clean, however, I en self check in can be done with more worth and welcome. No written instructions in the room. Guess were confused and keep asking each other for information and help... One welcome letter, one night table in the room, some notes and info arround the property would make guests feel that they care for them, not only for their money!!!

+Fine for 1 night. +Property was almost empty, so I didn't see other guests, and it felt like I had the place to myself. +Great kitchen & facilities +Parking outside +2 shower rooms, designated female one which was also warm, which was a nice touch +Tiny sink in room, which was great. Small wardrobe too. +Checked in late, but I could enter the building and then call/text a number, whom then gave me the code for the room. -Room was not as in the photo, smaller than portrayed (travelling solo, doesn't mean you don't need ANY space) -Hairdryer would be useful

everything is great, but the staff was not friendly, because we didn't receive any email or message about check-in instructions. we were calling all of phone numbers to request for check-in around 8 PM, However, no one answer the call !!!! after my friend tried to send a message and waiting for 20 minutes, the staff finally came here and impolitely told us and wrote the check-in password for us. although all facilities and amenities was perfect, we can't take the risk again. it was very horrible experience!!!!

Nice and clean Guesthouse. Self-Check-In was easy and all facilities modern and very clean. However, my room and towel did smell of cigaret smoke from previous occupants. Everything else was very good. Pricing seems fair.

The shower flooded the bathroom and hallway. Luckily I was able to catch the janitor before he left and he quickly fixed the problem and cleaned up the mess. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen.

Check in was a breeze since host sent an email with electronic door codes to our email before the trip. Never encountered any staff on the property, but plenty of numbers in the guesthouse encouraged us to call if we encountered any problems. There are a few different guesthouses on this property and ours seemed to only have 1 male shower room, which I think would be a problem during busier times, but we had not. Small room. Very clean and modern.

Very good location easily accessible by car. Nice new rooms with comfortable beds. Well equipped spacious kitchen. There are no windows in the kitchen/common are a which made is feel a little boxed in. There is only one shower shared between 8 rooms but it was surprisingly not a problem at all. The town itself has nothings interesting to offer. It's a good place while driving around Iceland and we would stay there again as it offers good value for money.

This is a self service hotel with no staff but that didn’t bother me. You have a code emailed to you so you don’t really need to check in. The only issues I had was the bathroom door did not have a lock and the pillow was very weak. Other than that, room was clean, bed was comfy and I liked the kitchen.

Self checkin hotel with shared bath and kitchen. Shared facilities are super clean and new, we stayed at the second building. No issues with checkin. Close to busstop and supermarket, not much else in Hella.

Nicer inside than it looks from exterior - clean, modern Scandi style rooms. Good large communal kitchen BUT - interior structure is not solid - every time a door closes, the walls shake - and the doors are on strong self closing springs so bang, shake, shake - and as for the main front door, even though it was a long way from us, it makes a massive thump every time it closes. Then only three showers for maybe 40 guests - we didn't have a problem but it doesn't seem enough. Only one frying pan in kitchen! Getting the automated pass code was a hassle - it didn't arrive and they kept saying it must be in my spam folder - just send it again guys, don't make it painful. No owner or manager ever seen - anonymous check in by number is unfriendly. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but could easily be much better

This place is clean and neat. There are no staff on site except to clean the place up, which they do very well. It was very quiet on the night that I stayed there. And the shared kitchen facilities are excellent. You will need to bring your own food to prepare. And do take a stroll along the river across the street. There is a path that leads inland, where you can see windflowers and birds by the riverside.
