Super friendly and welcoming owners. Lovely, clean, comfortable and great amenities. Only issue we had was the floor in the spa room becoming extremely slippery. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Lodge in a beautiful location.
Excellent Motel/ Lodge in excellent rural small town location. Five minutes walk to local shops and the Central Otago Cycle Trail. Well worth staying 2 nights to enjoy the environment. We intend to return in the next 12 months to explore the beautiful Central Otago Countryside.

Gem in Ranfurly
Excellent accommodation with added bonus of a spa pool and communal kitchen and TV room if you want to socialise. Underfloor heating in bathroom a bonus on chilly mornings. One thing to improve would be the lighting-very dull lighting so brighter bulbs would help. Highly recommended

This was our second time at this motel. We stay here when riding the Otago rail trail as it’s right next to it. The room is very spacious and super clean. It is in a great location, a couple of hundred meters to both supermarket and pub.

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The unit and other facilities available are all in excellent condition. Clearly one of the more modern options available in the region but at a very reasonable price point. The host was full of good suggestions for the area.

I have stayed at the Hawkdun Lodge twice now. The property and rooms are kept to a high standard, and the level of hygiene in the rooms [lounge, bedroom and bathroom] where my wife and I stayed could not be faulted. The furniture is comfortable and the rooms have a pleasant outlook. I have found the owners very pleasant and hospitable.

Better than expected
We were doing the Central Otago Rail Trail by bike and travelling light.the hotel had a bike room, laundry room and even Spa (hot tub), which, if we’d known about we would have slipped in costumes into our panniers. The host was friendly and informative and in all whilst expectations were not high in anticipation, our stay was better than expected and we enjoyed a good nights sleep good value for money.

My wife and I stayed for one night after a big day on rail trail. We were warmly greeted by the owner and were quickly checked in. The room was very nice and spacious with plenty of amenities. The owners was good also on giving options for us on what the town had in the way of food. The breakfast was great and plenty of healthy options. We both fully recommend to everyone who want short or longer term place to stay.

Ranfurly is a uniquely situated town with appealing features and history. The Lodge is clean and spacious with good parking and an attractive appearance so I would stay there again.

Highly recommended Ranfurly accomoation
Great accommodation and helpful & friendly hosts. Rooms are spacious and well presented (only wee issue is the lighting in the main room is very dim so had to have kitchen light on but no big issue) Purpose built for cycling groups this accommodation has a large common lounge room with kitchen - so nice to be able to eat dinner in that spacious room rather than eat in the room. Great location only minutes walk from shops and excellent Takeaway around the corner. Highly recommended.
