“Great find”

Once you find this hotel (suites) you will want to use it any time you are in the area. Very friendly home town feel. Clean, efficient suites. Well kept landscape. Tucked away next to a great shopping center (with a Starbucks). Quiet seclusion at night. Less than 5 minutes from I-15, I-85, and/or I-40. Price was wonderful for something this good.

“The rate is really affordable. I will keep on going back.”

The first time, I stayed on the ground level I noticed bugs. Since I have been staying on the upper level everything is ok so far.

Area recommendations

The restaurant are great. Public library is close by.

“Confusing access roads”

No problem with the hotel, but there is another Homestead Suites about 2 miles away that is much easier to access from the interstate.

“Home away from Home”

I love staying here (3rd time to date; and 2 more upcoming visits already reserved). Very clean and quiet; pleasant surroundings for exercising and great location to many businesses/services. Staff if extremely friendly and helpful at all hours! Few miles north to my son's college and a few south to my alma mater, so I will be making MANY trips to the area; thus, will continue to stay here. Truly a 'home away from home" -- not 'just' a hotel, especially with the kitchenette.

Area recommendations

Right next to a mall area that contains every shop imaginiable. This hotel is mid-way between Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill, thus, perfect location for visiting at either one.

Getting there

Once you exit Rt 15/501 onto Martin Luther King Blvd and go through FIRST red light, hotel is on immediate right. It is hidden by many trees that help to deaden any traffic sounds, so it is EASY to pass by when arriving for the first time. Excellent location to near-by mall and shops, yet once on the property you would never know the other businesses are surrounding it. Plants and flowers are well maintained and add to the relaxation of being there.

“Suites in Durham”

Very well set-up rooms. Had some problems with non-smoking room smelling of smoke, but we managed to change rooms.

“Tolerable for one night.”

The room was pleasantly finished. The bathroom floor was discolored from wear or improper cleaning. One of the kitchenette cabinet doors was broken. The mattress was hedious. In the great location this hotel is in, it was quite surprizing to find substandard accomidations.

There really isn't a bad neighborhood to stay in around Chapel Hill NC.

“Can't wait to go back”

Has become my hotel of choice especially when visiting my son at Duke Univ, or the hospital, and even if attending UNC sporting activies.

Area recommendations

All conveniences are within walking distance of this clean area. Hotel is 2 exits down from Duke University when going towards Chapel Hill.; thus, southwest corner of Durham.

“Would stay there again”

We stayed there for the graduation weekend and would definetely recommend it, specially if you have kids and like to take breakfast and have dinner in your room. The price was much cheaper than any other hotel in the area for that particular weekend. Room is not so big but it's is compensated with the comfort of having a refrigerator and a kitchenet on hand. CVS and 24-hour supermarket are at walking distance. It's 5-minutes to Duke University (West Campus).

Traveller's tip

Hotel has no elevator so if you have heavy luggage, ask for a 1st floor room!!!
