I did not like (1) Small room with congested space (2) Not very clean (3) Bathroom is not very good (4) Less light in the room I liked (1) Best value for money. With this small amount of money the service they provided was awesome (2) Breakfast was superb. I am amazed that they gave us so much (unlimited bread, milk, verities of corn flakes, coffee etc.) with so little money

Great staff & unexpected breakfast & coffee. Best value I could find in overpriced Queenstown. Shame about inconsiderate noisy guests coming in till early hours & talking loudly while walking all though building & even some standing outside rooms talking on telephone at 1am = poor nights sleep.

Very good and affordable option. Walkable distance to town centre and main attractions. Friendly staff. Yes it is not a 5 star hotel and does not have something you will find in 5 stars therefore the price is not any close to that. Very much worth every cent you pay. Would definetely stay again.

Great as a budget option, beds and linen super clean. Not well soundproofed between levels and wifi is difficult to set up and painfully slow. Good location just a short walk from town.

My stay was good ..if I was to complain about anything it would be the room above us is nosey when they walk around and the parking is crap.. hard to get a park if your not early enough ..other than that it was good and very reasonably priced

Fair value for the property. Queenstown ‘cultural’ hub and lakefront are a 20 min. walk away. Leave vehicle parked at Reavers to avoid downtown parking hassles. Save energy for the final 150 m steep uphill walk to this hotel.

disappointed. Not hygienic at all. i didn't expected this at all and would not come again and wont recommend to use this website at all. The heater didn't worked at all and bedsheets and blankets are very dirty, even though washrooms are very bad. even management didn't fixed heater even though we complained about it.

Stayed in a loft room as that was all available, little bit of a struggle to climb up into bed and not a lot of head space. Maybe more appropriate for the younger generation. Parking was a bit of hit and miss. Great continental breakfast provided.

For young travellers
Located on a very steep hill, I'd recommend this for young travellers by car. Close enough to the cbd, this is a hostel type of accommodation with a very lovely view. My room was definitely not the most comfortable as the bed was up a wobbly stair and it was a bit hard to get into as the ceiling is extremely low. The place wasn't greatly cleaned and the carpet definitely needs an update but for a few days it's doable.

Had a great time, but honestly didn't spend a whole lot of time in the lodge. It was clean and comfortable and perfectly served its purpose. However, the walls are *paper thin*, so I'd recommend requesting a room on the top floor so you don't wake up in the middle of the night to hear your upstairs neighbours going at it (hypothetical of course). Other than that, no real complaints other than a couple of hooks in the bathroom for towels would have been nice, but nothing major!

Reavers Lodge is a bustling, glorified hostel just a few blocks from the downtown tourist zone. (The last couple of blocks are a little steep but it gives you a good view of the townsite and valley.) The free continental breakfast is fine and there is a great coffee machine. The rooms are adequate if a little worn. Most of our fellow travelers were in their 20s but there were also many families.

Absolutely the worst accommodation i have ever experienced in the 20 years i have been coming to NZ. The rooms are dirty, dark, noisy and the rugs are all stained. Fixtures in bathrooms are rusted. Water was off when we were there. Dont be fooled when they say breakfast included. Toast, cereal and coffee is what is included. Never again in this overpriced disgusting place!

It was a relaxed place and would have enjoyed our stay if it had not been for our room being double charged and management absolutely refusing to reply to our request to correct this issue in any way. Incredibly disappointing.

We had no choice but to book a room for 2 nights at this time. I understand it's on season in Queenstown. However, I was not happy with some guests who were drinking, chatting and laughing loudly in the corridor by the doors. I couldn't sleep well too noisy even after 10 pm.

We booked 10 nights but bailed out after 2 nights. Constant noise day & night. Wouldn’t be suitable for elderly guests as there’s a steep hill & a few more stairs to climb for your room. Staff didn’t offer to help with your luggage. No water available in the morning for a shower, you had to wait until it came on. There’s a sign up saying that they deal with any noise but they never did. Avoid this place like the plague.

Reasonably priced compared to other hotels and fairly centrally situated. But the hotel is super basic and not very clean. We we given a room right next to their public toilet, and passing that every time to and from the room wasn’t a pleasant experience. The central kitchen was not clean. The bunk bed was horrible. It kept making squeaky sounds whenever someone was on it. The car park can get full by late noon, and pls find alternate parking options if that happens.

We were in room 13 and above us was room 52. The floor in room 52 creaked and groaned whenever the occupant moved around. It eventually transpired that the occupant was a building worker who got up at 05:00 and clumped around for about 45 minutes before leaving for work at one of the many active building sites. We had to align our sleeping patterns with his activities which meant waiting for the creaking above us to cease around 22:00 before we could get to sleep and were forced to wake up much earlier than we would normally do when the creaking resumed. I complained about the creaking floor to reception but got no resolution. The building is old and so some creaking is to be expected but this experience was devastating to us until we aligned our sleep patterns as described. The excuse by the reception person to whom I complained, as to why we could not be given a different room was first of all that the booking computer was not working due to an overnight software upgrade forced on them by Australia that left the system broken and also that they were fully booked up and there was no alternative room available. Determined not to let this situation spoil our holiday, we grinned and bore it making light of the situation by naming the unknown room 52 occupant as "Big Foot". I took a recording of the creaking which I will make available to you if you are interested. It really was a horrendous experience. Apparently other occupants also experienced similar problems.

Staff were wonderful, very friendly. View also spectacular. The room we had would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues although fairly comfortable, the bed was up stairs that more resembled a ladder and we could hear everything the neighbours did. Communal breakfast was great and very social. All in all, nice place to stay, more so if you enjoy social interaction.

Well where to start, firstly, the parking is completely impractical, no signs to direct you around the car park so cars are coming from both directions. Not enough spaces for the amount of rooms so total carnage. Not clear signage to the rooms either, easy to get lost and there are no staff to support (we arrived around 6pm) Next up, the room, advertised as a queen bed and a single bed. The single bed didn’t even have a mattress, it is a futon folded in half with a .5 inch piece of foam on half of it, So the leather was rock solid no way anyone could sleep on it. Lack of hot water in the shower so if you stay here prepare for an ice bath! No shower pressure when the warm water does drip out. The towels we were provided were covered in hair. No soap to wash hands was provided, neither were hand towels. Would never go back again and definitely not suitable for families. Ok for an overnight stay I guess.
