Deserted but delightful.
The hotel appeared to be in a state of transition. Our reservation was not confirmed but the attendant was able to accommodate us for two rooms as there were no other reservations, guests or staff in the building. The old world class was amazing and comfortable.

Beautiful old building that has had some recent updates like windows and carpet but the outside and grounds would be beautiful if taken care of. There was no wifi in the room and the tv didn’t work. The front desk clerk was a pleasant young woman who knew almost nothing was no help at all. The golf course looks like it would be nice except the 18th green was in terrible shape.

I would give it overall a 2.5-3 stars out of 5, so I am not completely unfair. It is a decent, clean room we got. But, if you happen to arrive late, then stay away. We were lucky since we arrived at 9 AM - there still was somebody at the front desk. Other people we found in the lounge when we returned from a dinner, at 11 PM, were not so lucky. There was nobody at the desk and nobody was answering the phone that was listed ("if there is nobody, please call..."). Not sure what they did - but they were there long minutes. In the room the TVs were CRT/old school but I would not have minded if I managed to get it working. The instructions said "use the little remote" but the "little remote" apparently was missing. Bring your mug, as the free Keurig coffee machine only had tiny cups that will fill to the brim.

AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE
Pros: Large, very clean rooms, modern bathroom, comfortable beds, inexpensive. Attractive, large property set back from the road and attached to a golf course. Cons: Service was non-existent. We arrived to a locked front door. A notice was posted with a phone # to call, but no-one answered. We had to scour the property for half an hour to find someone to register us and give us keys. There was no receptionist, concierge or anyone else to handle requests or be available overnight or when we left the next morning. It's a shame, because the property is quite grand and it might otherwise be a really nice place to stay. As it was, there were only two other guests staying (as far as we could tell) and with no-one else on hand in this large, rambling mansion of a place, it felt a little creepy.

Very tired, old motel.
The place is very old. Needs a major renovation and updating. A 3.9 rating is completely inaccurate. We travel a lot and a 2 is charitable. The lady who checked us in was very nice. She couldn't find our reservation we made through Hôtels.ca but accepted the terms I had on my phone confirmation. The bed was unsleepably hard. No one around at night to ask for things. At a rate of $60 I wouldn't stay there again.

The building itself on the outside us very pretty. The lawn wasn't mowed & flowers & landscaping OBVIOUSLY hasn't had ANY ATTENTION in a couple of years. We stayed 2 nights. They dudn't offer to clean our room AND THEY DIDN'T. No trash cans emptied (& there was onky 1 lil tiny 1). They didn't vacuum, make beds or clean bathroom. I had to ask for mire towels. The staff was not rude exactly but not helpful at all. Actually, they just acted weird....kind of like they were socially awkward, didn't seem to know what to say or do....😕

A Hidden Gem
An amazing building, lovely hosts, and close to Quebec city. If you golf, all the better! It feels as if you have been transported into old Europe, but with all the conveniences.

Worth a try
An interestinng place for sure! The best secret is that it is located on the beautiful St. Lawrence riveriera so stay here if you are exploring the beautiful and quaint villages of Quebec along the shore. The owner was pleasant and the room clean and spacious. I would stay here again if only to get away from the usual standard hotels. No restaurant though so Hotels.Com you need to adjust the web listing please.

Very Quaint and Private!
Room was very nice and big. Very clean. Hotel was kind of out of way. Kind of confusing were to go to check in. Parking and unloading luggage not very convenient. Cannot see car from hotel once parked. Had a nice pool. Very quiet. Could hear a pin drop. Tv reception kept going off and on. Elevator access to upper levels was convenient. No coffee makers in room. View from room was into the bushes. Not sure if golf course was up and running. Buildings around motel that I assume was for golfing in disrepair, internet was not very reliable. More off than on. The owner was very helpful.. Looked like he did all the front desk himself.

Pretty hotel, elegant decor, very clean.
We loved our 2 night stay. The hotel is in a picturesque setting, with it's pool and all the wild Flowers and trees. It's like a small castle quite quaint. Reminds me of a European hotel. The antique paintings on the walls, the sculptures the paintings, almost a small museum. The people there are very friendly and of great help. The rooms are very pretty and clean. I must say there is no fridge but we can have ice. The beds are comfortable, T V IN EVERY ROOM. There is a 18 hole golf course which belongs to the hotel. We played the course And had pleasure although the par 4s are long but not too hard. Greens were a bit soft on account of the rain. I recommend it for a short stay and would stay there again and try to beat my score.

What a beautiful place! It reminded me of the Von Trapp home in the Sound of Music. The grounds are lovely including the golf course, the rooms are spacious with high ceilings, it's very clean, with a calm, quiet atmosphere. When you're ready for something other than the standard Comfort Inn, try the Hotel Plaza Stastny!

This is the second time we've stayed at Hotel Stastny. Beautiful old-fashioned decor and paintings make even a one night stay feel like an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating and the price of the room is exceptional.

I booked this hotel on the phone. Sight unseen. What a pleasant surprise when we showed up. Room was excellent, service was wonderful. Great restaurant and proshop on the premise. Loved the golf course. Only drawback was no breakfast. Mr. Marian Stastny was a delight to meet, even though he wasn't a Blackhawks fan.

My husband and I were traveling with another couple and booked this hotel last minute as we found ourselves in the area with no B & B's available. We didn't want to stay in a hotel in the business district and this one was at least on a golf course. The rooms were super spacious. No coffee in room or in reception area in morning, but clerk recommended a wonderful breakfast restaurant close by. Clerk also delivered an iron and board immediately upon request. Shower had super water pressure.

Big disappointment!
The hotel seemed impressive at first, but on closer inspection that was not the case. The room was not up to standard. Some of the deficiencies are: there was no coffee maker as advertised; WIFI not available; TV was old and functioned poorly; ceiling had mould on it; A/C didn't work properly and leaked water onto the floor; the room was dusty, and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. We only stayed because nothing else was available in the area.

The Stastny Hotel is a lovely bit of Europe in proximity to Quebec City. Marian Stastny is a former NHL player and both he and Mme. Stastny are a charming couple who made our stay very welcoming and friendly. Very happy to go back and recommend to anyone who needs a great place to stay while visiting Quebec City.

Gorgeous Place
Although it was an overnight stay, I found the place superb. Looks like the perfect spot for corporate activities or lovers weekend getaway. And if you happen to love golf, well, you're in for a treat.

quiet, quiet, ......a bit creepy! somber lighting, and large paintings adorn the main floor central hall area. Inconvenient entrance, no restaurant, but.....ten foot ceilings, plush towels, large room, and rural setting was certainly interesting. comfortable but it may be "haunted"..... Felt like it. Off the road, interesting stay, will not return.

Hotel was easy to find - very very quiet & very celan. No extra amenities - no coffee maker in room & ice machine in the basement - you had to get staff to take you there. As well there was no resturant as advertised - apparently the chef had left. No snack or food of any kind to replace. Nothing at all around the hotel within walking distance. No path to the pool - had to walk over the lawn & hard to figure out how to get in. Staff of one pleasant but didnt' remain over night - so you were on your own. Unique & quaint. Starting to show it's age in the building & golf course.

This hotel hosts loud parties
We thought that booking a hotel on a golf course would be very peaceful but when we arrived we realized that the hotel building sits right beside the lbuilding where they host loud parties and we had to endure the booming of the bass drums until early in the morning. We had very little sleep. We also had a lot of trouble getting a WIFI key as no one was available to provide us with that information.

J'ai vu beaucoup de critiques qui ont lieu d'être... personne à la réception, poussière dans la chambre... Cela dit, cet hôtel est vivant comme une maison avec ses qualités et défauts... C'est très calme et malgré tout propre et beau... J'ai eu la chance de profiter de la piscine, juste pour moi, et le silence m'a permis de passer une très belle nuit. Disons que c'est une expérience originale qui ne ressemble en rien aux chaines d'hôtel stériles et uniformes. j'ai aimé mon expérience
