Nice resort

Posted 25-Dec-2014
The grounds are well kept and the staff are friendly. There are a lot of activities for kids in the kids club. The room was nicely decorated, however, the pillows are smelly and the bathrooms look dated which made it look a bit gross. We had to upgrade rooms and pay $200 just to get a cleaner bathroom.

A solid average

Posted 20-Dec-2014
While there were several staff I found endearing and highly service oriented, generally they were distant and uninterested it seemed. The food was bland to me and generally am less adventuresome in that department. The fruit and dessert weren't appealing however the banana bread in the cocoa cafe was a highlight. The entertainment team and entertainment were low quality compared to a stay with Dreams in Mexico. The most outspoken, Raymond, was so self absorbed and tried to be funny I found him obnoxious. I witnessed him leading an activiry for the kids and he didnt engage with them but rather the audience. Poor performance. Overall it served my need to getaway but I don't think I'll return to punta cana.

Nice Resort in Punta Cana

Posted 19-Dec-2014
Pros: Excellent customer service, beautiful resort grounds, beach area minus seaweed :)
Cons: Pastries and sandwiches at Coco Cafe were stale. I maybe tried one that was actually somewhat fresh. Everything else was old.
My husband and I had a nice experience at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. We were there for our one year anniversary. From the moment we got there, the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The beach area is nice and occupies a fairly large area. One thing I didn't like about their beach is seaweed. There was a lot of it in the water and on the beach, especially when there was a high tide. They did clean it multiple times throughout the day and I do realize it's something that's not in their control but it would be nice if it wasn't there. They do have a nice pool area but when we go on a tropical vacation, we want the beach experience. They have a variety of restaurants to choose from. They were hit and miss. Our favorite one was Mexican restaurant, El Patio. The service and food were really good. Our least favorite was French. We saved that one for our anniversary dinner and it was disappointing. There was a long wait, which was not a big deal but once we finally got a table, the service was extremely slow while the restaurant wasn't even half full anymore. The food wasn't good either. It wasn't worth the wait. Overall, it's a nice spot for a relaxing vacation. There were definitely a lot of people there but it never felt crowded anywhere, at the beach, pool, or restaurants. There were always beach chairs available or tables at most restaurants. We only had to wait for a table once or twice.

Hotel très accueillant

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: Tout

Nice Hotel

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Pros: Prefered club room was amazing, enormous bathroom and bed. Large sitting area, very clean.
Cons: Beach area, could keep hecklers out of the area better like other resorts do in Punta Cana.
Location: N/A
Room was amazing, we were part of the preferred club and had a room just steps from the beach & pool. Sliding doors very hard to open. Food was great. Had food around the pool areas as well, never had to leave to go to the buffet if you wanted to eat. Workers were very friendly. Lots of seaweed on the beach and hecklers (people selling souivners) was probably the biggest downside of the beach area, would suggest just staying by the pool.

Nice staff poor lodgings

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Most of the staff was very pleasant and helpful and the food was decent. I was very disappointed with the rooms. Definitely not a 4 Star... More like a 3 although the resort claims they are 5 stars. We were very unhappy with our room and saw several rooms but most needed updating (Especially bathrooms). Also, request a room away from the construction area and avoid the ground floor rooms with patio. There's no privacy unless you keep the curtains closed which eliminates all sunlight from the room... Feels like a cave. Lastly, unless you are seeking a vacation club avoid the 90 minute personal sales pitch (which turned into 2.5 hours). They offer a gift/ spa gift certificate but it's very expensive and the tactics are sleazy with the sign now or loose out on the promotion pitch.

Nice Hotel

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff is wonderful and very attentive.
Cons: The entire facility was very clean but the bathrooms are too small. Just a glass door between the toilet and the sink. Vanity too small
Our third visit to the Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana.
