Recommendable traditional Austrian hospitality
We spend 2 nights at this very remote Hotel resort with great hiking and good food. The Hotel is well equipped with a salt water pool. The gym that needs some attention and miner repairs and updates though. All in all the family run hotel offer lots of tranquility combined with honest Austrian hospitality. Especially the restaurant service was outstanding. The menu is a little slim but what they offer is fresh and very tasty. Also recommendable for vegetarians.

My family and I had the most amazing time here! GYhe Mountain View, Pool and spa were our favorite parts, but there is a lot to like about this place

Picture perfect...views to die for!!! Neat and clean accommodations although a bit out dated. Excellent food and service. Didn’t get to enjoy the spa but looked great. A bit out of the way but the property was worth it.

Great hotel
Very nice hotel. Breakfast was great. The room was spacious and clean. Loved the welcome fruit platter. Pools were nice. Loved the whole experience there.

Nice views, but expected more
Nice views and location, but a hotel that seems to have lost its way, has the feeling of a hotel from the 80’s (classic idea of a Spa), but with poor service and indifferent staff members. Breakfast was light on choices, and the staff was slow to refill empty dishes, wasn’t even offered coffee or tea our first day at breakfast. Rooms are large and comfortable with a great view at least.

The view was great! Nice, clean, spacious rooms. Very good, friendly staff. Nice spa. Good breakfast and good dinners. Only downside was smoking is allowed on balconies and if you like your window or doors open or are sitting on your balcony you smell smoke.

we have been two years in a row now and both visits have been great holidays everything you could want to do in Austria, Walk, relax, swim, spa, go into Salzburg, attend a music concert.

Best place in Salzburg with a few problems
Amazing place Only problems: they allow smoking on the balcony, and since you want to leave your window open it blows into your room. And they charge you 32 Euros for any guest you want to have enjoy the pool with you. Seems very steep. But the location and quality is amazing.

Visit to Berchtesgaden
We were travelling all around Europe and we decided to visit Berchtesgaden and the Eagles Nest. Rather than book a Hotel in Salzburg or one of the major towns closer to Berchtesgaden, we decided to book somewhere more remote and drive over. Its about a 15 minute drive away from the start of the climb. The Vollererhof is a gem of a Hotel. It wasn't particularly busy when we arrived and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Spoke good English. Its best described as a Spa Hotel. The drive up from the main road is quite a distance on narrow roads but its worth it for the views and the feeling of isolation. The room balcony's and main dining balcony have the most incredible view and when the sun goes down it is intensely peaceful and relaxing. The food was fantastic as was the wine and beer. I think most people go for the Healthy meals and spa packages but they easily catered for our tastes. Its such a great hotel I shall certainly be adding it to my places to visit again. Sorry to leave, cant wait to go back. We stayed in 10 different hotels during our trip.....this is the only one I felt I should write a review about because it was so good.

Unexpectedly excellent Hidden Gem around Salzburg
This is a hidden gem around Salzburg, the road over the dark forest we found the Vollerehof with warm and cozy light of the hotel. I was first skeptical if this is only an average hotel but over my expection, huge modernized cottage feel lounges and rooms with stunning mountains in the morning, warm English-capable staff, out of expectation breakfast and dinner (trout is made fresh out of their tanks!) Fully equipped gym and spa all well worth the money. Only 20mins easy drive to Salzburg and within the same route to Hallstat and Wolfgangsee. The only thing is might not fit for everyone is if you don't drive.

Hotel on a Mountain
Hotel/Resort is about a 15 min drive from downtown Salzburg. It is located high on a hill with beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountains. A very enjoyable stay.

Very nice hotel with great views
Everything about the hotel was fantastic. My one negative remark is the lack of hotel shuttle service to town. A taxi was 35 euros one way which isn't terrible but still costly . The hotel would also shuttle you down to the bus stop whenever needed to make the 25 minute trip to town. I would however recommend staying. It was some of the best sleep I received while in Bavaria!

Hotel with a great view
Hotel is just outside of Salzburg located on a beautiful mountainside. The view from my room was spectacular. The rooms were big and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant had delicious food. The staff was great! There are walking trails right outside the door to the hotel.

Lovely mountain views
Great location close to Salzburg and other nearby attractions. Had a great 4 day stay with plenty to occupy us having decided to rent a car and drive around the amazing countryside. We lucky with weather as no snow blocking roads and the views were amazing. Vollererhof was easy to find with Sat Nav but it is a 5 min car ride up a winding road but worth the drive. Hotel staff cannot do enough for you and there is an excellent spa and pool at the hotel

Beautiful Mountain Retreat
I booked a few hours before arriving so at first they couldn't find my booking and they said they had no rooms available. I was worried because I just took a 40 minute cab ride up the mountain to this hotel. Eventually they got it sorted out and I was able to check in. Besides this rocky start this hotel is amazing. Beautiful property and amazing breakfast spread.

Lovely room and beautiful view. Top quality in the room and all amenities. For some unknown reason we were assigned to the worst table for our breakfast even though there were plenty of other tables available with incredible views. This irritated me enough that I would not stay there again.

Right around the corner, yet worlds away
Decided to stay here as an alternative to crowded and parking challenged Salzburg and I could not have been happier. The hotel is close enough to the city, but feels worlds away being in the nearby hillsides. The service was top notch and the spa facilities much better than anticipated. I really enjoyed the wine and dinner offerings as well.

We wanted to spend 4 days in Salzburg, which we visited in other occasions. We wanted to try one of the hotel that are outside of the city, because we wanted to explore more the mountains the lakes and resorts surrounding Salzburg. We selected the hotel Vollererhof, recommended by Expedia. There were a delightful 4 days and nights we spent there. The hotel is very quite, very clean,the quality of the service is exceptional and the the quality of the hotel, spa and other facilities are outstanding. The nature and location is also unique. It is now on my return list whenever I will come back to Salzburg. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is an awesome property! And the service and food quality are nothing less than superb. The location is a bit outside of Salzburg, which has advantages and disadvantages depending on purpose of stay. The fitness and health and spa is a primary focus of the property. The property serves 3 meals a day and the food quality is wonderful.

Beautiful hotel up in the mountains
A health retreat up in the mountains about a 30 minute drive outside of Salzburg. The restaurant serves a set menu with four entree choices at dinner and it is part of the cost of your room. We had already made dinner plans in Salzburg for 2 of the 3 nights of our stay, so unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of this. It is a beautiful hotel with incredible views. If you intend to travel into Salzburg during your stay you would need to have a car.

This hotel is so much nicer than the photos. That's a first. The room was very nice, not really modern but totally in character with the overall experience. The staff were very very friendly and having meals in the restaurant was great. Breakfast buffet was also very nice especially on the outside terrace with spectacular views of the mountains. The wellness facility was like a medical clinic and exceptionally well done with an extensive array of facilities. Everything was absolutely immaculate right down to the towels rolled up on every chair around the pool. This place is run like a exclusive wellness resort and the grounds were amazing. Every photo is a post card and the Gardner deserves a medal for growing unbelievable flowers EVERYWHERE. We could not have had a better experience. Went down to Salzburg but we're very disappointed AND IT FEELS LIKE A TOURIST TRAP, and could not get back to the hotel quick enough. Hiking trails are great too but be in shape.

Excellent mountain view, beautiful environment.
My wife and I celebrated our 37th anniversary in this trip to Austria and stay in this hotel for 3 days. We have a wonderful time here enjoying the beautiful mountain view, fresh air, friendly and excellent services from the hotel staff. Meals served here were very good, fresh and healthy. We drove a rental car and this hotel location is easy access and close to all the famous tourist places. We had our sweet memory here and expecting to come back again. Just love it.
