“Good price and good location and friendly staff”

We were looking for someplace close to our event that was inexpensive. This lodging suited those features. The accommodations were clean but there were burn marks in the bathroom floor and the carpet had wear spots. For a quick overnight stay, it was acceptable.

“Great for the cost”

This is a perfect place in a perfect city location for a very low cost. We didn't need any "specials", just clean and comfortable. That was what we received. Nice to have the small fridge and microwave; coffee.

Area recommendations
A really small city, so around the motel was great for us. Great restuarant, entertainment, bar on one corner; across the street the grocery store. All walkable!!

“Forest Grove Treasure”

This was an incredible find!!!! on the way to Tillamook. This will become a regular stop for me. Comfortable bed, GREAT breakfast, nice staff.

“Friendly service , really unconfortable beds.”

This is a basic no frills motel, which is what we wanted. The place was clean and nicely kept. The beds were really unconfortable.

“Inexpensive Place to Stay When Visiting Student”

Area recommendations
Forest Grove is a very small town, limited downtown area. Pizza Scmizza has good pizza, Maggie's Buns great cinnamon rolls (even have a happy hour for baked goods) and Joe's ice cream is like an old fashioned ice cream shop. The Trimet system to get around is an inexpensive way to travel from PDX to Forest Grove if a car rental isn't needed.

“When visiting Pacific University”

It strikes me as odd that a private university doesn't have better, closer accommodations than what Pacific U offers. My last visit was at a much closer hotel (2 blocks away) but was possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed at (and I've spent 15 years traveling). America's Best Value is a much longer walk to Pacific (6-7 blocks) so the sense of immediate access to the University is gone, and in today's society, most people would probably not even consider it "walking distance." But the hotel itself was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, and I would stay here again.

Traveller's tip
For breakfast and lunch, make sure you visit Maggie's Buns as often as you can and sample as many different things as you can. There is an abundance of things to chose from and they are all beyond description! Everything there is fantastic, prepared fresh, and in an atmosphere that will brighten your day. So much more than just good sweet treats!

“Wouldn't stay here again.”

The rooms were clean, I will give it that. The service was poor. We were trying to use the continental breakfast. It was late every morning so we ended up eating at McDonald's every morning to not be late for our meetings. The motel had an overall funky smell. The lady at the front counter was borderline rude. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

“Not impressed --won't go back”

The location and the price were perfect. The bed was so bad -- lumps, a "hole" on one side that you fell into. It was a miserable night.

“A So-so hotel”

This was a decent hotel. Not the greatest but not the worst either. They screwed up my reservation and I got a room different from the one I was supposed to. The continental breakfast is a joke, I know it was free but still. Good thing McDonald's was just across the street. The one major drawback is the front office is closed from like 10 pm until 7 am. Made it tough when I needed to be at the airport at 6 am
