Incredible. Silky oaks is a peaceful, beautiful escape. Wonderful staff and accommodations. Gorgeous swimming in the river and lovely hikes in the rainforest. Highly recommended.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful area

Posted 15-May-2014
Pros: We had chosen this hotel as we wanted to be close to the Daintree rainforest and this seemed an ideal place to feel a part of the rainforest.
Cons: It would have been helpful to have wifi in more than one public room but that is our only issue.
Location: There is plenty to see and do if you like empty beaches, stunning scenery and visiting the barrier reef. We had a fascinating walk with a local guide
We stayed at Silky Oaks Lodge following a holiday in Sydney visiting family, we had been recommended the hotel and it more than lived up to our expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was spotless and the facilities excellent.

Great Stay

Cons: a little more menu choice perhaps, but I am being possibly too critical. Chef happy to cook up something not on the menu.
Location: diving, river stuff, great walks, just lay in your hammock and read
Loved this place. Very romantic, great staff, very good food. Relax in style

Amazing Experience

As our babymoon, this was such a special & amazing experience. The location is superb, being so remote. Fantastic service, no tv, very quiet & relaxing. The highlight was definitely morning swims in the billabong, a 2 minute walk from our room. I have never been so sad to leave a hotel! We can't wait to visit again at some stage in the future. This was the ultimate relaxing getaway.

Over rated. Over priced. Hikes OK but not worth the rave reviews. With hindsight should have stayed in Port Douglas. Better restaurants, better value, more to do and an easy drive to Daintree if you want to go there.

Silky Oaks Hotel

Posted 02-Apr-2012 on Hotels.com
A stay at Silky Oaks hotel is refreshing and regenerating. If you are looking for a holiday experience that is close to nature with it breathtaking beauty but also want the luxury of a well appointed log cabin and fine dining this is a hotel that covers all the bases! The open dining room that overlooks the river offers some spectacular views. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning again one day.

Silky Oaks

The hotel is in a lovely location and the rooms make you feel like you are in a secluded forest. The staff were all excellent and helpful. The food, however, needs to be improved. Breakfast were fairly ordinary and the once we ate dinner at the hotel was very dissapointing. The advertised "free tours" were also not available. But I would recommend the lodge purely for it beautiful location.

Relaxing Rainforest Retreat

Music playing in thre room on arrival - turn down service and scented oil burner started whilst at dinner - Wilderness with a smile on its face! Attentive but over the top staff and a great breakfast location. Even the rain seemed freindly.
