This isn’t my 1st time staying in Aston ptk.. but this time I had unpleasant experience with one of the front desk staff. I was passing by the front desk with my friends and this staff was abruptly asking me to settle my bills. I wasn’t asked to pay during check in & I wasn’t thinking much about it.. thought that I will clear the bills during check out. However, if there’s a need to remind the guess, shouldn’t it be done in discreet? This is not professional service staff should behaved. I will appreciate if you may want to re trained your service staff to be more tactful & polite. Thank you.

Good hotel but needs renovations
Hotel is generally good but bathroom shower and floor conditions need renovations. Drake the in showers in unprofessional and leaked and watercfrom shower accumulated near the toilet and could not go through drain due to slope away from the drain. There ya a karaoke bar that plays very loud music and bass till 4 am. Do forget about comfortable sleeping if you are a light sleeper.

Finally! A smoker friendly hotel. It was so nice to have a beer and a smoke while sitting comfortably watching the game on tv.

Not 4 Stars definitely
Bed Linens looked as though never been changed. Had that sleep in look and feel. Towels were thin and discoloured. Internal Fittings fallen apart. Dirty Couch. A study chair that was unsteady and would fall back every time it moved. Checked in and checked out within 2 hours. Stayed elsewhere for rest of our visit.

Spacious and great location but rooms are worn.
I had great expectation of the hotel as we hosted our wedding there 6 years ago. However, the rooms are dirty, outdated and worn. Shower are dirty and clogged. It is a shame that the rooms are not well maintained. In my room, it seems that under the bed are never cleaned and there are accumulation of dust and rubbish there.

Strategic location near the culinary center
The hotel conveniently located in the heart of Pontianak's street culinary center. The area is relatively safe, so even at night the guest can go and explore the surroundings. I don't give a good rating for the hotel due to lack of standard service for a 4 stars hotel, such as no hair dryer in the room. I think some rooms are smoking rooms? I don't know but the hallway retch with strong cloves tobacco smell. The breakfast starts at 6 am, however, the egg station is not ready until about 6.50 am. There is only one night-shift receptionist and it was clear that they were overwhelmed to serve incoming guests' requests. The staffs are very friendly, the hotel should be proud to have them, otherwise, it lost its leverage to be a better hotel.

ENJOYABLE STAY
Hotel is beautiful, good, clean and friendly. But the location is not good, too quiet and hidden from roadside. Rooms are comfortable but mgmt shud check regularly the condition of the bathroom. Both sinks in our 2 rooms are not working well, blocked and inconvenient. As a whole, the hotel is very good and recommendable esp for those with small children. They will love the space.

Excellence Service and Experience. Food is Good. Privacy. A bit too high for 3 star hotel. Convenient walk to store and shop. Change room immediately when aircon spoil. Great for family too.

Hotel in a mid of city
Hotel situated beside some old building. The lobby looked dim. Disappointed with the right, ants are found on dressing table. Sofa and carpet looked dirty. Room is provide with4 bottles of 300ml mineral water, asked for more, will need to pay. 2 300ml cost RP 50,000 and 1.5 L cost 34,000 ??? No hair dryer.

I have moved to the Aston after an unhappy stay at Mercure. Aston hotel is lovely in so many ways, the rooms are large and well designed, the lobby is spacious and tranquil and they even have a small library. The breakfast buffet is vast and you can be seated indoors or outdoors. The Chinese restaurant is a great alternative for afternoon dim sums and dinners. Bonus, the pool is cleaned frequently and somehow they manage to keep it clean without excessive use of chemicals. The staff were also wonderful!

Excellent but Greasy
The hotel was excellent but the area was filled with motorcycle shops and anything to do with grease. I could not find any local places to eat. The hotel food, especially western food was excellent although expensive.

First, FO staff did not really help. When we ask for more quite room, far from discotique room, she just said noisy room was Superior (since our room was Deluxe). But actually, in the midnight, discotique's sound was annoying. Also, the staff in FO didn't tell us first to stamp our parking receipt. If you don't stamp it in FO, they will charge you (parking fee is count per hour) And then in our room not really clean, there still were hairs in floor. No more stock toilet's paper (they just left it with a small roll!!) Stitch in door was broken also. Need lots of improvement for this 4 stars hotel. The good thing is only more spacious room rather than another 4 stars hotel in Pontianak Our last stay in Superior room (in higher floor) was better than this. Suggest you all to choose a higher floor if need a more quite room.

Quiet Hotel
Whilst we had a poor experience at check in due to our allocated room having a broken security latch then being placed in another room with poor air conditioning our overall experience was good as we were only in our room at night and by keeping the air con on all day the temperature was comfortable. The location of the hotel was good and the hotel was peaceful and quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was good and staff were friendly and very accommodating, I loved the local coffee and selection of local foods. I would definitely go back there again to stay if visiting Pontianak.

For westerners who might not see downtown Pontianak as particularly picturesque, this hotel is an oasis. This is a solid modern business hotel with large comfortable rooms and good WiFi. The breakfast selections were limited and not very fresh when I got there late morning. I had some trouble getting the AC to control temperature, but at least it got the room cool. There were art exhibit pieces in the lobby that added to a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall I recommend this hotel.
