Amazing resort, surrounded by nature and a beutifule park. Great pool and very delicious food at the pizzeria. The second resutaurant where dinner is served was disappointing, and no many choices for vegetarians. The rooms are very comfortable, too bad no espresso machine at the room and the coffees at the resort restaurants are too over-priced. Very delicious brakefast.

We’ll be back!
We’ll be back! Fabulous hotel and restaurant on a wonderful private park. It’s far from historic Perugia so if you plan to spend a lot of time there consider a closer hotel or ensure you have a car. They could improve their Wi-Fi reliability (though when it works its fine) and rehang and maybe upgrade some of the artwork on the walls of the rooms and hotel. That said - we’ll be staying there again. Incredible service and food and very relaxing.

A fabulous hotel in more ways that one!
This hotel is beautiful, in the middle of the Umbrian countryside. The facilities are great - rooms and grounds and the whole place is kept so clean. The bar is excellent, the food fantastic but most of all, the service is fabulous! The staff are so friendly and eager to please - will do anything for you. Thank you for such a most enjoyable stay!

This was an on the go pick that turned into the most spectacular gem. The property is simply incredible and located in an majestic location. It is in pristine condition and the staff are sensational. A must if you are in the area or looking for a few days of escape.

The weather as absolutely beautiful. Not hot as it can be. Staff at restaurant and the front desk were very courteous, and professional. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Beautiful property in countryside. Room decor, eh.
I'll start by saying that the exterior of this property is splendid and everything we hoped for. The interior was a different story. I don't feel like it was a 5 star property with regards to the room decor and restaurant decor (although we really enjoyed the food at the restaurant). Our room had strange furniture that was modern and not high end. Then there was a hideous brown rug under our bed that looked super cheap. It was clean though, for what that's worth. It's not really near anything, so prepare yourself for that. The staff was overall good. We ordered a second bottle of wine in the evening and they didn't have it but came back with a bottle of a similar price point that they said they recommended as being very similar. It was an awful waste of 60 euro ha- we couldn't even finish it. So I'm not sure I'd trust their wine recommendations!

Beautiful hotel in gear location. Amazing room and facilities. Restaurant is very poor, both food and service. Front desk staff is excellent, but the rest of the staff in the restaurants is not professional enough for 5 star facility and the price it's charging. Breakfast is not stocked up enough for the quality demanded by 5 star rating.

Less than impressive.
It's a question of personal taste. For us it is too much like "Disney" and not enough "Relais et Chateau.W They presented their idea of what clients appreciate, rather than being serious about any qualified feed back from less than totally satisfied guests.

A beautiful spot in the middle of nature. The property is stunning, and staff are fabulous and love Umbria. It was a great base for a few nights, perfect for exploring the little towns nearby and close enough to some bigger towns.

Excellence in Perugia
We are on a six week trip from New Zealand, one week in the USA and then Italy. We are quite seasoned travelers and by far this was the best stay so far. The people were very helpful, service and the restaurant was exceptionally good. The resort is on the outskirts of Perugia in the country. Te grounds are isolated but superb. It was a very relaxing stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling in this area, or just looking for a nice place to chill out for a while.

Charming getaway in an historic mansion
This is a spectacular property, fully renovated so that the facilities are modern but within an historic building set on a hillside with views of the Umbrian countryside. Great access to many vineyards, historic towns including Perugia, Assisi, Deruta and Torgiano. In high season the rates are fairly high so shoulder and low seasons could be an attractive option. The property is part of the Relais et Chateaux group. Really stunning with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful historic hotel in the country .
Arrived to a welcoming drink whilst luggage taken to the room. Magnificent garden setting and a marvelous infinity pool with excellent sun lounges and attendant on duty. Pool not open till 1000hrs. Room spotless and large with a very roomy bathroom. Great attention to detail and service generally excellent.

We stayed for 3 nights while in the region to do wine tastings in the Umbria and Tuscany wine regions. Our room was very nice and they upgraded us as there was availability on our check in. The air conditioning was great, which you won't always find in Italy and the bed very comfortable. The restaurant on site is very good but a bit pricey. The specials change daily and the one's that we tried were delicious. The grounds are expansive and very pretty. The pool is also very nice and we spent time there each day. The hours aren't great b/c of the requirement to have a lifeguard, but the 10am to 7:30pm was sufficient.

Beautiful hotel , quite off the beaten track.
We stayed at BdC for 4 nights in April 15. It was very obviously out of season and very quiet, but the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable ( new, clean sheets every day ! ) and the facilities were good. Breakfast choices were limited, but you could pay for additional choices and the dinner menu was the same all week - I would have liked to have seen a different choice, or at least a new special each day. Spa facilities were nice, but the steam room was out of order and the outdoor pool was closed. It wasn't really warm enough for the pool anyway so that didn't matter too much. The "garden room" spa was lovely. The bar prices were extremely reasonable for a hotel ( 20 Euro for a bottle of really nice Prosecco ) and the Maitre'd ( Marcus ) was happy to recommend other places to eat in the surrounding areas without any kind of pressure or guilt about not eating at the hotel. Overall, a very nice break in a lovely location with smashing staff - definitely recommended.

Hard to find but worth it.
This hotel is one of the nicest hotels in Italy. The staff attentive and bend over backwards to help out. Driver beware: it is hard to find. Did not show up correctly on Google maps gps. It is off the beaten path, but worth it.

Almost perfect experience; almost perfect place.
It's one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed. Beautifully done throughout, inside and out. A destination place from which you'll hesitate to leave to drive the 11 km into Perugia or 20 km to Assisi. The grounds and the buildings are remarkably beautiful. The staff is super-friendly and was glad to see us; always ready to help and give suggestions. The restaurant was beautiful, comfortable, thoughtfully and carefully designed, as was the whole place. The one thing that was wrong and marred my experience: the fact that the spa (also pristine and lovely) was unattended, and the front desk was unaware of that fact - a management flaw. I know this because I had a complaint that the spa services (whirlpool, steam and sauna) were not very hot the first night and downright cool the second night, which is a shame because the spa was one of the main reasons I booked the place. So, my otherwise wonderful experience, in a place that clearly strives and achieves perfection, was marred. Don't let this deter you, but make sure the spa is working if you want to use it.

Tasteful, elegant...but short on soul.
Alternate title: "Near a lot, close to nothing". Spent 4 nights as base to explore Umbria. Very high quality refurbishment of estate building, not a very old one. Lovely grounds, rooms and public spaces. We found Umbria to be a more rustic/relaxed place than Tuscany, with simpler more soulful cuisine. Unfortunately, the management seems to want to minimize the Umbrian in this hotel. Food service from bland breakfast buffet to fine dining room was not particularly of place...kind of safe international versions of italian food; nothing we tried would we seek out again. This was particularly distressing since the closest town of any size is Perugia, which has great, authentic dining but is 45 minutes away. So, if you want to chillax (my daughter's word) at the hotel, you get stuck with boring and not inexpensive food. Lots of other issues to address, like: a weak wine list; no weights (benches but no free weights nor machine substitutes), no towels, nor water in the nice spa/workout room; an odiferous lifeguard with a perpetual grimace at the pool; little to no service at poolside bar; lengthly check in and out due to faulty systems... Our significant experience with other Relais & Chateaux members led us to not expect these shortcomings. All being said, this is a stylish retreat, that is beautifully decorated and landscaped.

Gorgeous place!!! The staff are so sweet and accommodating! We loved it and hope that we can get back there sometime. The room was immaculate with quality sheets and towels. The grounds are beyond gorgeous and so well maintained. The location is somewhat remote, but we loved that! It's convenient to many hill towns and sites. Great hotel!

Could be great but just plain horrible
Service was cold and rude. Never anyone at the front desk. When the ladies were at the front desk they were extramely rude and not accomodating. The restaurant was empty. Lightbulbs out throughout the hotel. Bathroom door didn't shut properly. This newer hotel could be great but it needs a lot of work. They need someone to come in to teach them how to be a full service hotel. Right now it's just a big expensive building without a soul. Ashame...
