We were pleasantly surprised with what this hotel has to offer - grand history and building, a nine hole golf course, tennis courts, a lovely Roman style pool / spa area, lovely walks eg to the magnificent Black Spout waterfall, games room etc. Breakfast was a bit crowded but it wasn't a problem waiting in the nice sofas; we didn't try dinner.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Location is great, short walk to shops in Kinross and short bus trip to Edinburgh. The staff were all really friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was really nice and spacious too. Would have been nice to have a better view rather than the one we had of the hotel dumpster but we weren't in our room enough to care too much. The only big negative was that wifi was included but we could only get a low signal for it from our bedroom. We would have to access the web in the bathroom but even still it was not a great connection. The hotel stay included breakfast which was really good, great choice of food! Lots of car spots available too and didnt have to pay for parking which is an added bonus. we really enjoyed our stay here that we ended up extending it for an extra night.
"Can't wait to go back! Would definitely recommend!"
Can't wait to go back! Being a young couple we thought we might be a little out of place but I have to say we had the most fantastic stay at The Green Hotel. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We booked a standard room and it was massive! Very clean, modern and had everything you could need. The hotel was very easy to find, just off the M90. We ate in Basil's restaurant which is the 2 rosette one and the food was brilliant, you would assume it would come with a hefty price tag too, but the menu is set at £25.50 for 3 courses & coffee so very reasonably priced. We also ate in Jock's bar which is the pub inside the hotel, it serves food all day, with classic pub grub to choose from, everything we had was delicious. I had a hot stone massage at their in house spa, I have to say, it was amazing! I am now hooked for life! We also checked out the pool, jacuzzi, curling rink, and music venue, all of which are brilliant. Loch levern is only a 10 min walk away which has a small bistro serving carvery 7 days a week as well as having a boat service to the island in the middle of the loch which is home to the ruins of a castle. Qould recommend having a hire car, we went to cluny clays (30mins away) and had great fun having shooting lessons. This hotel is very deserving of its 4* rating, and should maybe even be a 5* would recommend it to everyone and we have already decided we would like to go back again in future :)

Very comfortable, clean.
The hotel embraced the Etape Caledonia with special carb load menu and Etape breakfast at 5am.
The highlight was seeing another guest carry in his expensive bike to keep safely in his room and a member of staff open the door for him.
Well done to all at the hotel.
I will be back next year.
We last stayed at Dunkeld House 34 years ago, on our honeymoon, when it was privately owned. Since that time there have been impressive additions such as the swimming pool and spa. But what really delighted us was that the essential ambience, appearance and friendliness of the place hadn't substantially changed. Set in beautiful grounds this is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. Thank you to all the staff for making our return trip so pleasant and memorable.
"Peaceful stay with fantastic views on Loch Rannoch"
We had a fantastic stay at the MacDonald Loch Rannoch Hotel. We had a good rate through expedia so I wasn't expecting the greatest room, but we had two double rooms with huge double beds and a view on the Loch. the swimming pool, sauna and steam room also offer great views on the Loch, and it all made it a magical stay. I would just warn that if you are not planning to eat at the Hotel, you might want to eat out in Pitlochry before going there. It is quite a long drive, and very isolated.
As soon as we arrived we were really impressed with the hotel. The reception staff were so polite and friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. We found all staff in the hotel to be happy to assist us with any request and certainly appreciated the way they made us feel welcome. The hotel seems to be very well staffed and that was very reassuring to see. The food was excellent and we couldn't help but be impressed at how well organised everything was especially at breakfast time when everyone seemed to be desperate for their tea & coffee etc.
I have only one minor grumble (something that affects me wherever I go) and that was the firmness of the mattress - it was just a little too firm for my back, but that would be my only negative remark about our room.
I would also like to pass on a comment made by my daughter who had one brief session in the "Big Country" kids club, unfortunately she didn't have the positive experience that we hoped she would have and it was later that she remarked that she felt the staff were too strict. Maybe this is something that they can take on board for future interactions with children in the 9-12 age bracket.
All in all we had a lovely time at the Crieff Hydro and would certainly like to stay there again.

Although the single room is very small, there is everything needed. Owners and staff work hard to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay. The food served is very very good. There is a large and very pleasant lounge to relax in. WiFi throughout the hotel.
