Wow. I was weary of a pub stay, but i was quite surprised. It was quiet despite the pub. The bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was quick and tasty. It's very close to the Mount and if i was ever going back there I'd make a beeline for that place. The stairs was a bit much for me, but i managed. Lots of tea and biscuits, and i appreciated the cleanliness.

We understood we had booked a triple room with a private bathroom from the Expedia website, but had to share a bathroom along the corridor. No table lamp at one side of the very uncomfortable double bed. Curtains were falling down from the rails so did not close properly with a street light immediately outside the window. Room smelt of stale smoke. Breakfast was good and staff pleasant. Beware there are 2 steps down from the fire door, 1 guest fell flat having misjudged the steps. The notice does warn of 'the step' but there are 2 steps. Restaurant was advertised on the website but not in evidence or were we given information at check in. We did not view The Mount from the hotel!

Unfortunately you had booked the basic triple room which has the shared bathroom rather than the traditional triple room which has its own facilities. Also as the hotel was built and named in 1894 we are unable to comment as to whether it did have a view of the Mount at that time. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay

The room size was somewhat compact, with a layout that made navigation a bit challenging, particularly due to the wardrobe positioned near the entrance. This required some maneuvering to move in and out. The bathroom facilities, including the sink, were on the smaller side. The dining area was cozy but could benefit from more frequent cleaning. Interactions with the staff were less than satisfactory, presenting some communication barriers. On the upside, the hotel's location is convenient, featuring its own parking and proximity to Penzance town, just a short walk away. The breakfast, to my delight, was exceptionally good and a highlight of my stay. For those considering a brief overnight stay, this hotel could be a suitable choice.
