"Excellent host gives a great welcome and explained everything properly. House is a gem, just off the High St, and very quiet. Generous amount and variety of things for self-catering breakfast. Warm room, comfortable bed and a proper bathroom. Highly recommend this place."

"We stayed here for one night after attending a wedding near by. We arrived at 10 pm in heavy rain and were warmly welcomed at the door by the owner who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. Next morning we woke to sunshine and wonderful views to the surrounding hills. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Fellow EV drivers may be interested to know that free charging is offered to guests upon request - according to the hotel directory in our room. We didn’t register seeing this on the hotel web page. The building has many historic features and has the normal quirks of an old building such as slightly sloping floors in places. We would certainly be happy to return here and stay longer as there is plenty to see and do in the wider region."

"Great stay, perfect base for motorcycling trip. Good place to keep bikes safe and dry in lockup. Rooms comfortable and very reasonable for price. Bar good selection of beers at good price. Staff all friendly and helpful, couldn't fault. Would stay again, thanks"

"This historic property is charming and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay in king bed rooms. There are a lot of stairs but that is expected in a historic building. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the on site restaurant. The staff is helpful and friendly. "

"Lovely friendly hotel, service was fabulous, we stayed with three young children and felt very at home here. They especially loved the swimming pool and the buffet breakfast. Dinner is served a bit late for children (6pm) but we enjoyed exploring the local area to find somewhere to eat. We stayed in a family room and there was plenty of space, we liked that there were two separate areas within the same room. "

"A lovely place to stay, spotlessly clean and great service. Great food in the bar and all very reasonably priced. Becky in housekeeping provided excellent service in the rooms. It was an ideal place to stay with easy access to Hay and to the cafe in the airstrip. We will return if we go back that way again."
