The location is excellent if you want to be in the midst of the local action. (The location, however, is not great if you need to go to bed before the bars close - far too noisy). The rooms are spacious and recently remodeled - gorgeous and new. High ceilings, modern feeling, great for a romantic night for two. If you're lucky, a group of guitarists will be out performing at the fountain by the bar and you can listen to music past 1am. If you can sleep in, stay here. If you need to get up early in the morning for work, a little less action is recommended - you'll have trouble sleeping.
Since this was my first time in France, I wanted to be immersed. This did not disappoint. You can sign up for breakfast in the 18th century breakfast room (one floor up). It's a light buffet where you can sample meats, cheeses, and petite pastries with some yogurt and coffee. The seasonal fruit was amazingly fragrant leeches. I sipped café au lait and watched the local French news. Fun little sampling of France.
The neighborhood is a pretty safe suburb of Marseille. Lots of shopping nearby. This hotel doesn't have a parking garage, but the shopping center parking isn't far away. If you forgot a razor, nail file, etc. the bathroom is nicely stocked with amenities.
The one negative was a brief outage of sewer services overnight (but it was a local area issue, not the hotel's problem I gather). I'd return for a leisurely holiday.

The location is very convenient in central Aix-en-Provence, right next to the office of tourism where you can get needed information about the town and book tours.
The hotel has a nice reception area and friendly staff. The room is decent and new, not too small comparing to Paris.
This hotel is in the perfect location for walking the old town on Aix-en-Provence. The hotel is in a building that was built in the 1200's and is very beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and modern and the desk staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We were only there one night but I had wished we had stayed there longer.

I wish we could clone the staff at the Hotel Artea. They were marvelous throughout our stay in Aix. We had problems with parking , including a ticket in Avignon. We needed about 6 maps to tale us through town, many shops & restaurants and a new room. Ours was stuck on heat. They took care of all these and I don't know haw many smaller tasks, to make our time there care free. i would recommend all of their happy reactions to our problems , which immediately put us at ease. The truly inspire confidence.

Only stayed one night, but were pleased with the accommodation. La Rotunde is well-situated for exploring Aix on foot and easy to find because it is near the big fountain. Room was dark because of heavy wood shutters, but street noise was not a problem. Kind of had a business hotel feel. Otherwise clean and comfortable; a good value. Secure off-street parking was a bonus.

We kicked-off our week in Provence with two nights at this wonderful hotel in Aix-en-Provence. Friendly staff, spacious room, insanely comfortable bed and upscale room amenities (including very good wifi). What we took advantage of most was the location. Just a few blocks from the Cours Mirabeau, we headed to this famous boulevard where M.K. Fisher spent her time in the 60's writing about food and culture to see for ourselves the fountains that line the tree-lined thoroughfare. The hotel is also close to a wonderful patisserie for morning coffee and pastry.
Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the this wonderful town. Also recommend getting directions if you're driving!
"Wonderful Boutique Hotel near great sites & food."
My stay in Aix-en-Provence was truly enhanced, thanks to "du Globes" wonderful staff and accommodations.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many great restaurants and historic sites.
I'm looking forward to staying there again very soon.
