Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp - Amakhala Game Reserve

"Our stay at Quatermain’s was one of the highlights of our three-week trip through South Africa. Julie was incredibly accommodating and made every request feel easy. Jess and Kyle were excellent game-drive guides—engaging, attentive and clearly passionate about what they do. Nick’s warm hospitality made us feel completely at home, while Riaan’s incredible knowledge brought every part of the walking safari to life. The camp’s thoughtful comforts were equally memorable. The hot-water bottles were absolutely perfect on the cold African nights and mornings, and the lovely wood-fired hot tub was a wonderful place to relax after a day in the reserve. What stood out most was the team’s attention to detail and genuine kindness. They even managed to arrange a vegan birthday cake for my companion at very short notice, making her celebration especially memorable. The experiences were wonderful, but it was the people and their thoughtfulness that made our stay exceptional. We left with terrific memories and would wholeheartedly recommend Quatermain’s to anyone looking for a personal and unforgettable safari experience. Lastly, the cave experience was truly special."

"Excellent stay in Safari Lodge. Staff were super helpful and friendly. The game drives with Bon Bon were incredible as we saw so many animals and learnt about their behaviours. Each lodge was individually located so you had a strong sense of privacy. We even watched warthogs coming to drink at the water hole from our lodge. The food was very good. My one suggestion for improvement is either to have an indoor toilet near the dining areas or to spray the outdoor toilet with mosquito repellent each morning as the standing water meant it was full of mosquitos in the morning."
