We have been to Paris few times & this is the worst experience so far. Hotel room was dirty, door knob was broken, bathroom tub wasn’t shower proof so water was spraying all over. Area not that great. Don’t recommend at all

Basic room, a bit pricey
Good location on a street with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. I left before breakfast, so can only comment on the room which was small and basic. The bathroom was small too and the shower had a curtain, no glass screen, so a bit dated. Check-in was OK as was check out. A bit pricey for what you get, even for central Paris.

When you close the door of the room it is so difficult and noisy that you think easily that the wall will fall down, there is a hole on the screen cover, the ground: they put à lino on a very old wooden surface so it is very noisy, the walls are made of paper, very noisy, the shower is as the year 1950, very small and the plastic curtain stick on your body, the price: they put at the entrance 79 euros, maybe real price when I paid 128 euros, chercher l’erreur…cet hôtel mérite un large détour.

Convenient and clean

Walls are literally paper thin. Spent half the night listening to neighbours talking. Then woken early in the morning by someone walking around overhead! Bathroom too small, not ideal for bigger people. Check in staff was more focused on watching a football game than serving us.

Budget Hotel
Room was clean, but very small. Ideal if you just want to sleep and thats it. In fairness it is a very small hotel which is in a great street. Everything you need is close by, gets a little noisy outside about 11.00pm but thats Paris. Only two medium people fit in the lift, the bathroom is small and the TV is French only. But hey, if you want to stay in your room and watch TV then get a hotel with bigger rooms and pay extra. Bottom line it;s a budget hotel in a great location with small rooms.

Really comfortable - Big Bed, small room. 2 star hotel - is a 2 star hotel with a one person elevator that works. No air conditioning. French TV. Rue D'Gurre is listed as a small shopping street in Rick Steve's book. It lived up to it's name with food shops, bakeries, dress shops 2 grocery stores, wine, cheese, pate. Had several cafe's and 4 or 5 fruit stands. Ok place for a couple to stay. Too small of rooms for travelers with kids. Only 1 plug, so pay attention to charging. Staff was very nice and helpful. Skip the morning hotel breakfast and go to any of the bakeries. Yum. Get the 4 day museum pass and 5 day metro pass at tourist info at the airport. Take train B from Charles D'Guale airport to Denfort-Rochearu metro stop. About 5 short blocks to the hotel. Skip the car. Folks with luggage all around as this is a main connector stop. This metro connects with everything and will take you where you want to go. Catacombs right there by metro. Take the metro to Versailles with a 5 minute walk to the palace. Close to everything, far enough away from too much noise. Bars go quiet about 12:30. It was a good stay, surprisingly so. If you don't need much, (nice bed, French tv, good water pressure, 1 plug, elevator) you won't be disappointed.

Humble but comfortable
Located in a wonderful neighborhood of shops and cafes. You can walk to the Eiffel Tower along the Seine to the Louvre, Norte dame, and back to Montparnasse easily, but public transportation is excellent! The staff was helpful!

First time in Europe
Excellent hotel clean rooms with private bathroom, about two blocks from 2 major subway stations in either way, plenty of nice restaurants and mini markets within walking distance, the only downside is walking to the hotel at midnight it gets pretty lonely and creepy.

The hotel room was very confortable, and the hotel has an elevator wich is very nice for the luggage, is perfect to travel because is close to the train, metro and bus station, the room was clean and just the right size, the bathroom is very small but if you dont need luxury is perfect. Room had TV, and good WiFi.

This hotel is budget-friendly and 8 minute walk to a major metro station (Defernt Rochereau). The only cons about this hotel is that the upper floors' Internet connection was very weak (lower levels it was very good); the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the corridors as well as the TV and toilet flushing occurring in nearby rooms. The staff were helpful and kind. They allowed me to check in several hours early as I had just come off a red eye flight. So overall, the price, service, staff, location, and Internet on lower floors of the hotel are great. The paper thin walls and also the lumpy beds were not so great.

A clean and comfortable place to rest your head.
You more often than not get what you pay for. This hotel is low cost and as such one should not have high expectations. The rooms are warm and comfortable with space to hang and store belongings. The shower/toilet rooms are poorly designed but functional if you are able bodied and of a relatively slender physique. Overall, it is a good hotel in a good neighbourhood with friendly staff but I assure you it is little more than a place to lay your head, at this price point (~50 Euros per night), one cannot expect more.

The Tipi Hotel was exactly what I was looking for, for the 3 night stay in Paris. The hotel had a typically sized Parisian room but had everything we needed for the few nights. The staff in the hotel were very nice and helpful. The hotel is in a great location for getting the Metro in town as well as having plenty of restaurants nearby. All in all the hotel was nice and if we are returning to Paris anytime soon, I will gladly book the hotel again.

Easy to get to anything since the Metro is close.
Very helpful and friendly staff, but the room was not too clean, the shower curtain was so flimsy that we got water all over the floor, and the room was quite tiny with no closet.

Tipi Hotel
The hotel is located close to a metro station (Denfert Rochereau), has lots of eating options down the street, including a McDonalds for those in a hurry. The staff was polite, and whole check in/out was without any fuss. No bad surprises either. CONS: The room was cramped, shower even more. But this was alright for my short stay, and the very reasonable price they charged.

Very small room
Tipi Hotel is your average budget hotel. It worked fine for me as I was only there two nights and only slept and showered there. The rooms are extremely small and the shower was one of the smallest I've seen. It is also about 13 metro stops from the main train station and maybe 8-10 into the city. This was not a huge problem for me as a metro ticket is fairly cheap and I had no reason to go back to the room during the day. I would recommend this hotel for someone who is looking to do Paris on the cheap and isn't planning on spending much time in the room. It did the job for my couple days in Paris, but I would not have enjoyed staying here for a whole week.

Fantastic 'hood, outstanding service, OK facility
Rue Daguerre is a fantastic place, especially in the mornings when all the vendors are open. The street is a mix of typical Parisian cafes along with quaint shops and bars that take you back decades. The street's proximity to the Montparnasse train station brings lots of people and foods from northern France, and the mix with Paris is so much fun. The Tipi is adequate as a facility -- not bad at all -- and is a good value, but the staff is exceptional. In addition to being friendly, they do their best to make you happy, even when things go a little sideways (the battery in our door happened to run out on a rainy night but they did EVERYTHING to get us in our rooms as quickly as possible). The Tipi itself won't be the highlight of your trip but it is a comfortable enough place to stay in a great neighborhood to be worth the money they're asking.

We expected a small room and tiny shower, though, some repairs are needed in this hotel. Our shower head would not stay in the bracket to hold it up, so you hand to always hold the shower head. (And in a tiny shower, that was even more awkward.) The staff was friendly enough, though not helpful with offering up info on the location or even hotel's own amenities. We didn't discover the "rooftop" terrace until our last night. (You access this from the ground floor - go into the back alley and you'll find stairs.) Overall, easy location for restaurants and close to the metro to get to all the tourist attractions. Good deal for the cost.

Highly Recommend if you are a first time Tourist
This place is perfect for the following reasons; 1) Politeness of hotel staff, (although the guy in the morning was making a bit too much noise while I was trying to enjoy breakfast) 2) Location - it is in a street that has only pedestrian traffic and lots of patisseries and fruit shops and bakeries 3) Room was very quiet and heated and clean. 4) Pillows were comfortable 5) View from window on the rear side was wonderful. Although I read some reviews about the noise of the lift (yes it was a bit noisy) I once I was asleep I didn't hear it. The cleaner in the morning was a bit noisy though because I was trying to sleep in until 12. If check-out is at 12 the hotel staff should be quiet until at least 12. I will book this again when I am in Paris.

This hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from Paris' famous catacombs, and 10 from the nearest metro. The rooms were very small, but not uncomfortable. Soft beds, hot showers, and friendly staff. Great stay and would recommend.
