My favourite place to stay!
It’s always great to stay at the Agate hotel! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the bed comfortable, the room very clean and it’s near the Nation métro and a great boulangerie and Thaï restaurant next door! What’s not to love! Thank you, Agate Hotel staff! I’ll be back!

The property has been recently renovated and is quite nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. And as a female solo traveler, the area feels safe and the Nation metro is nearby. I've stayed here 3 times in the past and know I'll be back.

Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! Rooms are nice; a bit small but not by European standards. The air conditioner made an intermiitent sound that kept my husband up at night (I wear ear plugs) and we needed help to get the shower to operate fully but otherwise, a nice stay.

This hotel is 5 minutes walk from Nation station which, in turn, is just a few stops from Gare de Lyon - handy if you are travelling by train. My room was small, but provided everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The two doors to get into the room I was in are really heavy - I struggled to open them! It was virtually impossible to regulate the temperature of the shower - it would end up either too hot or not quite hot enough. There is a very good size tv in the room. If you are tired and don’t want to walk far, I ate a very good meal in the Thai restaurant next door. I felt very comfortable eating in there as a solo female traveller.

Clean, Cozy and Very Enjoyable.
Like most hotels in Paris - this one has small rooms. But it was on the cozy side of small and not cramped. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. The bed was very good as were the linens. It is in a fairly busy part of the City, albeit not a very touristy one. But I chose this location for its proximity and access to the Accor Bercy arena for a concert I was attending. Overall, I definitely liked this hotel and think it is a fine choice for solo travelers.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to Metro and the restaurant/bakery nearby. Also the cleanliness and the friendliness of of the hotel receptionist. What is not preferably was the size of the room especially the toilet and shower. Other than that we like the hotel.

the hotel was really good, whatever little time i spent there. Very polite n nice people. Though the rooms were tiiiiiny. Guess it’s Paris and fully compliments price of this place as well.

Great location. Wonderful neighborhood. Fun street market right outside Wednesday and Saturday. Staff is OUTSTANDING. Metro, RER and bus transportation a block away. Market, patisserie around the corner. Several nice restaurants within 1-2 blocks.

Great stay! Just a bit noisy.
The staff was very friendly and helpful! I appreciated their quick service. The room was clean and comfortable. The only downside of the stay was that the walls are very thin. I could hear people talking in the room next to me, which made it difficult to fall asleep. Besides that, it was an excellent stay!

Loved breakfast and the air conditioning. Room kept clean. Staff polite and helpful. Spiral staircase presented difficulties bringing things up and down. Neighborhood not very attractive.

Great hotel for a reasonable price
I loved opening the window to the courtyard and listening to the fountain below. The staff was very helpful and spoke great English when I got confused with my basic French !

I greatly enjoyed my stay at this charming, family-run hotel located near Nation, a pleasant, residential neighborhood near several metro lines, with lots of restaurants, bakeries and shops. My room, while small, was well appointed, clean and pleasant, with French windows opening onto a quiet courtyard. The hotel staff was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the handheld shower in the bathroom, which is actually very environmentally friendly since one tends to take short showers. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

I highly recommend the Agate Hotel. Yes, the rooms are small, especially the bathrooms. And yes, it's on a busy, noisy street. And if you're visiting Paris during unusual hot temperatures like we did, know that it's not air conditioned but fans ARE supplied. But also keep in mind that most hotels in Paris have small rooms, are on well-trafficked areas, and don't have AC. Considering what you'll find most places, here's what else you'll get at the Agate: Very reasonable prices for Paris. An incredibly convenient location (2 minute walk to the metro? Please. Two stops from Gare de Lyon? Thank you very much. Groceries, cafes, patisseries, post office, etc within steps? Double check.). A tasty well-stocked breakfast option for 13 euro with hours considerate hours for late sleepers (til 10:30 am). Spotlessly clean rooms. STRONG internet and TV signals. And the most friendly, HELPFUL and accommodating front desk staff ever. We asked to switch rooms away from Vincennes (the busy street) and although they were booked solid, they accommodated our request without pause or question. And every member of the staff held the same demeanor: friendly, helpful and accommodating. TIP: when booking a room request one overlooking the patio, away from the street (e.g., avoid room 25; 38 is much better).

One night stay en route to Disney
As a family we only stayed in this hotel for one night - arriving late on the train and heading off early the next morning. It’s a great location for RER to Disney!!! The staff we encountered were really kind and helpful and genuinely cared about their customers. Although the hotel itself is a little tired, this could easily be overlooked on a short stay as the staff/owners are lovely.

Nice courtyard, location is very convenient (very near a Metro plus train (RER) station), size of the room is just nice, small shower, near cafes and supermarkets, it's just a bit risky because you have to leave your key with the reception whenever you go out and also the WiFi gets disconnected at about 3 or 4 am, so you'd have to reconnect first thing when you wake up.

Very happy with this hotel. I booked for a party of 29 and had no complaints from anyone. The location was great; handy for the metro, and felt a nice safe area. The reception staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. The only small quibble was lack of coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

Hotel staff was awesome, assisted us with finding several things including tickets to Disneyland and the Catacombs. The room wasn’t what I thought I had booked. The photo I was looking at when I booked had 4 single beds and the room I received had a double bed, a single and a trundle. So 1 person had a huge bed, 1 had a smaller bed and 1 had a mattress on the floor. However when I looked at my reservation this is the room I had reserved NOT the one with 4 equal beds in the photo. So this was a hotel.com thing not the hotels doing. Room was clean, well maintained and close to metro stations.

A wonderful solo trip made even better by choosing this hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel room was warm and comfortable. I will stay again when in town. Off the beaten path but Nation Metro is 5 minutes away. Great shops and cafes in the area.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the Agate Hotel. It is in a convenient location, with easy access to the Metro network and lots of cafes & restaurants nearby. The hotel was very clean and a good standard for the price.

Clean and comfy but too hot
Staff were very friendly, room and hotel itself was very clean in a good location. Room was far too hot to sleep in overnight and there was no proper shower, just a handheld hose in the bath.
