The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The bed linen and sheets were beautifully laundered giving that crisp, cool and refreshing feeling. The amenities on site were excellent. This was our first time at Te Tiriti Motel and it is better than many of others that we have stayed at. Highly recommend.

The outside light was not working, very difficult on a dark night, trying to see the code on the lock box, else a peasant stay.

We received text saying key was in lockbox by room. Arrived when dark and not light above box so hard to see when entering number. Unit was nothing like the photo of hotel. It was street side and very noisy being by main room, with traffic speeding past all hours of the night and day. Reception not managed and no one around to help oversea tourists who arrived on Saturday afternoon - we ended up having to ring several times on their behalf to get hold of anyone. Woke last morning with cockroaches in our bed!!!!! Nothing in room regarding where to get meals. Water from tap was horrible! Recommend take bottled water if you are going to stay here. Liquid soap in shower not refilled so ended up having to go to Countdown next door to buy our own!!! Would I stay here again? Short answer is NO! By no means not the worse place but have stayed in better for similar price.

So sad you did not enjoy your stay with us. The guest who stayed in your room the very next day has given us a 5/5. Many of your complaints are out of our control....taste of tap water???? Traffic?????? Our phone number is clearly noted on the door of Reception if it is closed. We use commercial sheeting and have regular spraying for creepy crawlies. My housekeepers have not advised of any outbreaks, clearly a one off situation, perhaps they travelled in with you? Regards Michelle

For the price I couldn’t fault the accommodations. Michelle was lovely and the room staff were very polite and friendly. Highly recommend.

Check out was disappointing. Office was closed with a sign saying opens at 9am. Didnt have time to wait around till then. Had to leave the key in the room

Walked in room wasn’t the one My partner n I paid for , missing towels, sheets needed to be replaced, toilet was dirty and dishes needed to be done from whoever was in there before us . And I’am highly disappointed but me and my partner made the most of it and was happy to be together. We won’t be going back there that’s for sure .

Far North Trip
Check in was a breeze with the locked key box (information was sent by text) Rooms were clean and tidy, plenty of onsite parking. There was a lovely pool but we didn't use it this time.

Only there for a night so didn't use any of the amenities. If we had been there longer they would have been ample for our needs. There was dust and dead insects behind bathroom door and toilet seat in need of replacement. Not a lot of room around the bed especially as i was in a sling from shoulder surgery.

I stayed 1 night in a studio room. I arrived at 6 pm as I had already indicated to find no one on site. I rang the number on the door and 15 mins later someone turned up. Had I known it was a lock box system I would not have booked here given my previous bad experiences with this type of system. There was no curtain or blind over the window in the dining/kitchen area and so moonlight shone into the room.

I was a little disappointed when I arrived at the motel thinking it wasn’t what I expected from the photos. The room I had booked was already occupied. As usual there was nobody at reception however I could reach them via phone. However I was upgraded to a better room which I was pleased about. I was disappointed with the studio. There was no body wash or shampoo in the dispensers. The spa bath didn’t work. The shower was far too powerful and uncomfortable to shower under.

Nice upstairs room with a comfortable bed and great shower. Convenient location - walking distance to beach, supermarket and 2 minute drive to town. Only downside was the very noisy guests in the next door room, with no apparent action taken by the management to sort out.

Very conveniently located....and parking! Great place to stay, although we never got a chance to use the pool, but we did see it. We were very busy every day. Lots to do in the area for couples and kids.

We booked a deluxe 2 bedroom unit and from the photos we had seen, we were expecting a room overlooking the pool. We were put into another 2 bedroom unit which was certainly not deluxe. We felt shut out from the rest of the motel as there was a large wall and gate between our unit and the pool. We had to ask for toilet paper and wine glasses.

A note on the reception door said they would be there til 5pm and we got there 2 mins after! Had to go to another location to meet with property manager to check us in. Also there were no instructions on how to use the stove and had to go down to reception to have someone come back and show us!!
