There is good and bad in this review. We were aware of renovations prior to reserving a room and paid a slight uncharge to be in a renovated room based on Expedia comments. The first room we were given was not complete and had some cleaning issues. The front desk was helpful, eventually moving us to another room. This should have never happened in the first place. With the renovations, expect a basic hotel room that has been updated. Bed was comfortable. You could control the temperature and even open a window. Perfectly acceptable for a brief stay. The staff was very helpful, polite, and friendly.

Back again for yet another terrific stay! The Black Bear Inn was undergoing renovations to perk up all rooms, and managing the process well. Staff were, as always, cheerful and helpful.

This facility appears to be undergoing some big renovations that look like they will be amazing! The staff was kind and helpful. The complementary breakfast was a little lacking in variety but there didn’t appear to be many guests staying due to the construction. Hopefully that gets better.
