“BAD EXPERIENCE”

THE HOTEL DID NOT HAVE GOOD MAINTENANCE. THE NON-SMOKING ROOMS SMELL ANYWAYS. I REQUESTED EXTRA TOWELS AND I NEVER RECEIVED THEM I HAD TO GO TO THE LOBBY TO GET THEM. THE HOTEL HAD A LOT OF DAMAGES.

“Terrible hotel”

This hotel was cheap for a reason, we only stayed one night, thank goodness. The room was awful, smelt disgusting. the bathroom was grubby, with the pervious guests hair all over the bath and towels!! the bedding has cigarette burns all over it. Do not stay in the hotel. I would comment that staff were friendly

“orlando stay”

Clean room, employees were very nice and helpful, breakfast needs to be in a bigger room not enough tables or chairs,food was good. Bed was hard. I would stay again.

“Great cheap hotel.”

Just returned from a two week stay in Orlando. This was my second time staying at the Metropolitan Express with the first time being in 2008. Once again I find myself absolutely baffled as to why people leave such bad reviews for this hotel. It is cheap, clean, friendly, relaxed, safe and based in a great location with eateries only a very short walk (literally 2 minutes) away. A new addition to the hotel which I did not get to benefit from in 2008 is the Oasis Tiki Bar. It is a relaxed, cheap, clean and friendly bar and I highly recommend it to anyone. The owner and barmaid, Rachel, really made myself and my friends stay a treat with her fun, outgoing approach. So many people write bad reviews for this hotel but that is only becuase they think that everywhere in Orlando will have the thrills of expensive Disney hotels. Anyone with a brain will realise that you get what you pay for. But I will say that you get a decent nights sleep, safe and clean place to wash and rest and a relaxed time at this hotel and it is very good for the money. Dont be put off by the bad reviews for this hotel. Just remember, for every bad review, there are 10 good ones that don't feel the need to get written. I will be returning in April and will be staying at the Metropolitan Express.

“Great~”

The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The only downside was that check in time was strictly enforced at 4pm and there was a fee to store our luggage before check in time. Also, the complimentary breakfast was sparse. Other than that, it's a nice place to stay.

Area recommendations

The area of this hotel (on International Drive) is an excellent place to stay, as there is a large variety of activities and places to eat.

“not impressed”

last time we were here 2 years back. this was a good hotel. no lifts in the hotel. if u get a room on the 2nd floor, to go to your room is a maize game. i will not recommend to stay at this hotel.

“Will stay again!!!!”

We had a few minor problems with room but as soon as they were reported to reception staff they were sorted. We did unfortunately have bed bugs but a can of spray sorted them. The breakfast supervisor was lovely and so helpful breakfast was good but think it needs to be in bigger space. So close to everything we needed i ride stop just up from hotel and lynx right outside. Perfect location for restaurants and theme parks.

When to go

We went in March of this year and september we found september the better option.

Getting around

We used the Iride for up and down international drive and the lynx buses to get us to the disney parks saved waiting for the transport and all the pushing that goes with it to get a seat, more comfortable on lynx.Also easy to pick up timetables and time everything. Lovely lady driver on lynx dropped us off at a really nice stop while waiting for other bus to disney. Only one bad point we found i ride to be really busy this time and people were crammed onto bus or after already waiting 20 minutes for bus it would come and be full.

Dining

We loved sizzler for its buffet and main meals, ponderosa was great for breakfast as was western steer. Ci Cis pizza was great for the price and with a coupon was even better. Panda express was another joy to find.
